Tape Hooks

Shut the front door. How cool are these tape hooks!? I'd love to have a wall of these to hang my jewelry. The hooks are made from actual paper soaked in water and set in a fixed shape that's supposed to be strong enough to hold keys and other lightweight objects. I have no idea when they'll be available in the States but rest assured that as soon as I know, you'll know. xo

Decor: Paint by Number Wallpaper

How perfectly fun is this wallpaper spotted on Design*Sponge?  Upon first glance, I was loving the fact that the owner of this home used pineapple wallpaper in the living room, but then I realized it was paint by number wallpaper and I had to learn more!  

The paint by number wallpaper series can be found at Jenny Wilkinson and includes five different patterns (£40 per roll) that can be painted or colored in however you choose.  It's a fantastic idea for those of use that want personalized wallpaper or simply have the itch to color the walls.  If you're too hesitant to paint on the walls or you're renting and can't wallpaper the space, I'd simply mount the wallpaper and frame a couple of large pieces to hang on the wall.  What do you think?  Think you'd have fun working with this wallpaper or would you rather not go there?

Gift Giving: For the Nursery

I recently ran across Gingiber's work in a new shop featuring indie artists, Domestica.   I personally don't have a nursery (and I don't have any reason to have a nursery, so don't get any ideas) but we all know someone who's expecting or has a little one and I think these illustrations perfectly walk the line to please both child and parent.  You can purchase these prints in the kid's section in Domestica or on Gingiber's etsy shop.  I encourage you to check out both shops if your looking for gift ideas for the little ones.  I personally wouldn't mind receiving this calendar myself, but since I'm supposed to be concentrating on others...

This is the perfect color combo for rainy, chilly days like today.  Sultry, smoky grey and purple.  It looks good on eyes and in interiors. Who knew?

Interiors: Pops of Orange + Wall Collections

I had to let out a little squeal when I saw photographer James Braund featured on desire to inspire the other day.  This lovely Australian abode has two elements I adore: pops of orange and wall collections.  I spy collections of beaded necklaces, floral art, and wicker handbags all displayed lovingly on the wall. It's an eclectic space with a bohemian vibe.  Perfection.

Interiors: Mirror Collections

I wonder if maybe I have a touch of OCD with my strong inclination towards grouping and collections?  I like wall decor that pushes an idea, much like plate walls, mirror walls are a great way to display a collection of vintage/thrifted/or found pieces.  They needn't be framed or fancy; I like mirrors best when they have some age and wear on them. What do you think about these mirrored collections?

Interiors: Bohemian Wall Collections

Typical art walls with perfectly framed pieces can get a little boring to me.  Don't get me wrong, I appreciate symmetry and balance, but I also love the look of layered collections and objects especially on colorful walls. Are you equally enticed by these artsy, bohemian interiors or do you prefer more "designed", traditional art walls?

Interiors: Modern Color

I'm not generally into über modern design but I really like this modern kitchen as seen on plastolux. The over sized wall hanging (which looks like a giant coat rack to me) and the array of Eames chairs is kind of making my heart go pitter-patter.

Isn't that floor beautiful too?  Definitely my kind of minimalism.

Interiors: Collage Walls

Beware, the collage wall is not for the minimalist at heart.  

Some of these examples are actual collages while others are wallpaper "faux collages." I think they're all interesting and because I am most definitely not a minimalist, I could see my future craft room having a wall with a giant collage.  What do you think about this type of wall decor?

Decor: Vintage Scarves

I have SO many vintage scarves that I rarely wear but just love to have around.  I've recently come across two examples of how I might be able to use them.

I really, really love the idea of hanging them on a small ladder, because then you could use them to wear and then put them back and rotate them for a different look. Now I just need to hit the flea market and see I can find a little ladder.  What do you think of these ideas?  Anyone else collect vintage scarves?

Interiors: Bathrooms + Small Shelving

I recently came across two bathrooms, both with pretty clawfoot tubs and super small shelving to facilitate the display of small objects.  What a sweet idea.

Granted, neither of these have the obligatory shower curtain, but I really like this idea for a vacation home and who needs a shower curtain when you're vacationing. Right?

Book Clock

Book clock - clock book, whatever you call it, it's pretty rad.  This novel invention (oh yes, I went there) is available in three different styles for $39 over at Forever is Today.

I like books, and I'm down with clocks (although you'd never be able to tell by my consistent tardiness), I'd just need to figure how to hang one of these on the wall. Or maybe I'd want to read the book first...oh the conundrum.

Bunting and Birdies

These pieces by Atlanta based Pragya K combine the best of both worlds: bunting and birds.  Besides the imagery, I really enjoy the effect created when something 2-D is forced to interact with an object (in this case, the bunting).  So sweet!
