Style Inspiration: Long lengths

Maxi dresses and skirts have really not been on my radar...until now. I own exactly two dresses and would like to add more to my wardrobe because they're so stinking EASY. I throw one on for work, add a cardigan and a belt, if needed, and I'm good to go (I have yet to try a skirt. Baby steps). It has taken a while but I think I've finally changed my mind about this longer length. Are you a fan?

Style Inspiration: Warm and Cozy

Layers, bundling up, and staying warm is my top winter priority although, admittedly, the South has had a pretty mild winter thus far. You won't find any puffer jackets here, thank goodness (not because I think they're ALL ugly, just 90% of them). Find more of my personal style inspiration on my pinterest board, i like your style. Style Inspiration: Peach + Seafoam

Love, love, love this look. These two ladies make this color combo seem so easy (they also make pleated pants look good, but that's besides the point). A refreshing choice in the midst of grey and black, don't you think?

Style Inspiration: Scotch and Soda

Elbow patches? Thick scarves? Boots and lots of layers? Fall will be here before you know it and I, for one, am not ready. I'm finding lots of inspiration though with Scotch & Soda's A/W collection. I'm trying to convince myself that I can pull off leather suspenders. I might be giving myself a little too much credit though.

Silent Sundays is a vintage and designer shop founded by photographer Jamie Hopper and vintage guru and blogger Rhiannon Leifheit (both from Georgia!). Besides the fantastic styling, pretty lookbook, vintage and designer options (can we please talk about how much I want this dress), the model is really rocking the short hair and making me wonder why I ever grew mine out. Style Inspiration: Sessun

Just some style inspiration for your Sunday. Are you having a good weekend? It is hot here (almost 90 degrees!) which is a good reminder that my wardrobe is seriously lacking in summer staples. I'm definitely feeling inspired though by the fresh color palette by French label, Sessun. I'd wear everything above in a heartbeat including those gingham pants (yes, that surprises even me). Enjoy what's left of your weekend!

Style Inspiration: Totokaelo

While I tend towards wearing more feminine, some might say frilly, vintage or vintage inspired pieces, I often crave a simpler, more modern, streamlined look. I suppose you could say I'm rather conflicted. If you've been following this blog for any amount of time, you have probably noticed this rift in my design aesthetic but thankfully none of you have called me out on it because you are very kind people. The great thing about fashion and design, and I suppose life in general, is that we are free to change our mind on any given day and we can dress however we damn well please with very little consequence (as long as you're ok with the occasional raised eyebrow or comments like, "I would have never thought to wear that.") Regardless, I'm currently loving the refined, paired down looks by Totokaelo. It's a perfect reminder that sometimes a plain white T and a pair of perfectly fitted pants is all you need for a style pick-me-up. Know what I mean?

I daresay tie-dyed has never looked so good. I think I'd give this look a try, perhaps with a lightweight scarf or pretty blouse. Heck, I'd even wear the tights. Think you'd try this look?

Style Inspiration: Nadinoo

I've been drooling over British label Nadinoo's playful creations for some time now and the new Autumn/Winter 2010 collection is no exception.  I love everything about this look including the billowy silhouettes, short hemline, chunky mary janes and oxfords, and of course the fun socks. The ochre + cerulean combination in this outfit is perfection.  Check out Nadinoo's pretty blog, etsy shop, or online boutique for more drool worthy outfits.

Style Inspiration: Brochu Walker

This season, I'm looking forward to wearing layers, leggings, long cardigans (excuse the alliteration), stripes and neutral tones.  Brochu Walker shows us how casual comfort is anything but sloppy.  Aren't these looks downright cozy?

Ruche Fall Lookbook

Ruche's fall lookbook is out and, once again, I'm impressed.  There's tons of fall style inspiration to be found in this lookbook including lots of layering, feminine accessories, and soft pops of color.   To top it off, Ruche is also incredibly affordable so obviously I'm a huge fan.  Some of my favorite new fall pieces include the lime pencil skirt, these sweet lace up booties, and this fun ruffled gray jacket which looks oh so cozy.   See anything you like?

Style Inspiration: Toast for Fall

As mentioned in my previous post, I tend to wear frilly, girly items with lots of pattern, but this fall I'm thinking about a more minimalist, streamlined wardrobe.  I'm loving the new fall line, "Simple Says it All" by Toast. The pieces are classic, beautifully structured, and elegant.  The neutral palette and tailored fit of are sexy and slightly mysterious, don't you think?

Alternative for Fall

I love the comfy, casual, soft, laid back look of the few pieces of Alternative clothing that I own. Their Fall 2010 lookbook entices me to perhaps stock up on a few basics that will pull me through the winter. Isn't the retro scrapbook theme fun?   Definitely a popular style for product photography right now and one that I totally support.
