Interiors: Just a touch of blush

I just love pink in small, muted doses. Don't get me wrong, I like a bold pink wall every now and again, but blush is definitely my preference. So soft and approachable, no? Now if only I could talk B into thinking so. After five years, he is no less averse to pink than he used to be. Obviously, I'm doing something wrong.

Interiors: One Green Chair

I was hoping to find more examples of this dining set up - black chairs with a single green attention seeker at the end. It's a pretty unique set up though and I consider myself lucky for finding two that share so many similarities. Those green chairs pack quite the punch, wouldn't you say?

Decor: Feather Wall

This perfectly styled feathered wall belongs to Hannah Ferrara of Another Feather (featured here as well). What a collection! You can see more pictures of her gorgeous studio over Imogene + Willie's blog. Also, how pretty is this necklace designed by Another Feather for i+w?

Interiors: Not Quite Neutral

I'm loving the unassuming charm of these not-quite-neutral spaces. Vintage details meet taupe, grey, green, a touch of brass and yellow. I don't know if I'll ever be able to settle on just one style for a space (if I ever want a cohesive look in my home, I better start committing to something), but this look is pretty darn close to my ideal. Also, how sweet is the crochet throw in the first space?

Interiors: Bathrooms + Mirror Clusters

Instead of having one large mirror over the bathroom sink, what about breaking up the space using multiple smaller mirrors? This might be problematic if you're like me and use the bathroom mirror and sink as a sort of makeshift vanity (a cluster of bigger mirrors might work though). Either way, I think it's a charming look, especially for a guest bath.

Interiors: Earth tones

I find myself being drawn to earth tone everything lately: mossy greens, ochre, cream, warm buttery browns. Especially in the chaos that is the holiday season, I want to be surrounded by soothing tones (no electrifying neon, please) and rich texture. Have you been drawn to any particular color palette lately?

Interiors: Decorate Workshop Blog Tour

Reading Holly Becker's Decorate Workshop was akin to sitting down with a knowledgable, unpretentious, practical and enthusiastic friend and discussing the process of making a space your own. In other words, reading this book was not only easy (and that's saying a lot with a busy schedule) but it was encouraging, insightful and, most importantly, motivating. I've been in a decorating rut lately which I don't think is uncommon when you rent a space and don't always feel like you can make the changes you'd ideally like to make.

I think what I appreciated most about this book, besides the obvious eye candy, was Holly's down to earth tone. Her advice, found in 8 easy-to-follow steps contains tons of prompts, accompanied by plenty of space to take notes. These prompts encourage a certain mindfulness when it comes to addressing design in your home, a mindfulness that allows a person to take ownership of their own personal tastes and style which, as well all know, is not always an easy thing to do.

One of the areas I really get stuck in when it comes to making any space my own is money. I tend to get intimated by our meager budget and therefore don't move forward with anything. In Step 3, Holly addresses setting a budget, knowing when to splurge, getting creative with what you have and simply being realistic with your expectations. Infusing a space with personality takes creativity and resourcefulness which brings me encouragement when the money isn't always there. 

I'll be referring to this book again and again as I plan for small projects as well as take on bigger endeavors. B and I are planning to move soon so I'm looking forward to planning for a new space!

Interiors: A portrait above the bed

Currently, we have this set of DIY fabric pieces above our bed (made in 2009, they've moved around quite a bit) and I think it's time to change things up. I like the idea of a simple portrait above the bed. It's simple yet unexpected, don't you think?

Interiors: Compact Kitchens

My dream home is modest but my dream kitchen is giant with butcher block and concrete counter tops. Until that dream becomes a reality though, I'm regularly finding inspiration from compact kitchens with clever storage like open shelving, baskets to contain tools and supplies, and hooks for pots and pans. I love the dish storage in the last image - sitting the plates vertically instead of horizontally saves tons of space and it looks awesome. It's such a simple solution and one I need to employ stat. Any other clever space saving tricks you've utilized in the kitchen?

Interiors: Collected Casual

My favorite types of spaces are those that feel collected. I know I have a problem with editing down and I suppose I should be grateful that we live in a space that occupies around 800 sq feet so that I'm not tempted to buy every flea market treasure I come across. Until I have my own larger space and the money to fill it with treasure, I'll admire these charming interiors for all their collected, eclectic, lived in loveliness.
