I turn 30 in exactly one month. YIKES! I've narrowed my wish list down to three items that wouldn't normally make their way into our budget. I figure that turning 30 is a good excuse for a little extravagance (that's what I keep telling myself anyway).
1) I have absolutely no experience taking care of nice sunglasses. In fact, years ago, I vowed to spend no more than $20 on a pair of shades because of my talent to lose and abuse any pair of shades that were unfortunate enough to find me as their owner. But, surely I've learned some responsibility in my 20s and can now be tasked with taking care of some pretty aviators. Surely?
2) A handcrafted tote made from Argentinian leather, this bag by Cuyana could easily become my everyday work bag. I love the soft powder pink color but there are only 2 left so if you're reading this and happen to be my husband, hurry!
3) Ah yes. I understand that many people would not even consider spending $140 on a hairbrush, and normally I wouldn't either but I'm turning 30, remember?! I've read so many positive reviews about Mason Pearson brushes (I want this particular style) and I'm thinking with a brush this nice, you'd only need one for your entire life. Assuming you don't lose it of course, which is probably something I would do. Hmmm.
So that's it. Three items for my 30th. I'll be happy with one. Or with none assuming I get flowers and whiskey. I'm really not that high maintenance when it comes down to it. Don't let that $140 hairbrush fool you.

Wish list 5.13.13
1// iphone case $35 by eva black 2// sandals $49.99 3// dress $49.99 4// necklace $60 by cisthene 5// tote $98 by coriumi 6// nail polish $8 7// cat print $28 by caitlin hinshelwood 8// pebble tape measures $17
I love color, I really do, but I've noticed that my wish lists over the past few months have stuck to a fairly neutral palette. I have a few theories as to why this might be but they all seem a little silly (like maybe I'm mourning the loss of my 20s as I'm turning 30 soon? ha). Anyway, yes, my wish list this month does include a tape measure. Mostly because these are the prettiest tape measures I've seen, too pretty to tuck away in the back of a drawer. And although I'm not the biggest cat fan (I know, I know, how un-blogger like of me), I do love this cat's attitude. Happy Monday!

Wish list 2.18.13
1// riley dot tote $260 by rennes 2// nail polish in heather blush $14.99 by scotch naturals 3// the duet mini wedge $128-$138 via madewell 4// asesop hand balm $25 5// wooden tasting spoon set $44 via leif 6// set of 3 letterpress notepads $10 by arminho
I'm starting off this week with a pretty ambitious wish list. What's the point of a wish list if not to aim high though, right?
So, I've been holding on to a gift certificate to Madewell that I received over Christmas. I've been guarding it with my life, not wanting to spend it on just anything (gift cards paralyze me for some reason. It's a strange phenomenon that I won't get into now). I'm thinking these shoes will be my belated Christmas gift. They're the sandal that's not quite a sandal and they're perfect for Spring. I'll finally be able to part ways with my gift card knowing that I waited for the perfect purchase. Or at least that's what I'm going to tell myself. No regrets dammit.

Also, have you seen the Sephora + Pantone collection yet? I saw a few of the items in the store recently and the colors are really rich but I have yet to try anything. This palette has been receiving some positive reviews and the colors are so pretty...

Wish list 12.5.12
I have two art prints on my wish list today. The ostrich print is available at United Thread while the cool sweaters print by Jacques Maes is available over at Society 6. I think they make quite the dashing pair and since our older prints never quite recovered from the fire, I'm thinking it's time to find some replacements. You can find some other pieces I'd like to hang on the walls right here.
24 Merry Days:
Day #5 - win a set of serving platters and bowls by Mud Australia over at That's Happy.

Wish list 11.6.12
1// zodiac necklace (cancer's my sign) $45 2// circus wool hat $58 3// chelsea ankle boot $68 4// philosophy candy cane body wash $16 5// sea mist leather pouch $30
This is the time of year when my wish list posts become really fun for me because I know my husband actually looks at these posts (I'm pretty sure it's the only time he looks at the blog, hi B!). He's actually told his friends at work who complain that they have no idea what to get for their wives for birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, etc. and B likes to tell them that I keep an ongoing wish list so he's always has lots of items to choose from. In which they respond, "no way man, that's awesome." So I'd like to think in writing these posts that I'm actually doing my husband a favor. And yes, in case you were wondering, almost all the gift I've received for my birthdays and the holidays over the past couple of years have come from this series. I've loved every single one of them. Go figure.
p.s. happy voting!

Wishlist 9.6.12
Just a few random items on my latest wish list. B and I are thinking about splurging on this chair from UO but I haven't seen any reviews on the quality and such so I'm hesitant. We're in desperate need of a comfortable chair for our living room and although I've been wanting one of these chairs for as long as I can remember, comfort is our first priority. Decisions, decisions. Any thoughts?

Wish list 7.5.12
2// classic tank $52 by chance
3// drawstring purse $140 by baggu
4// me and arrow keyring $18 via new high mart
5// asymmetrical triangles $80 by nikki montoya
Yes, that is a key ring on my wish list. I used to have a little yellow duck key chain that quacked and lit up but it broke recently. The duck was rather annoying whenever it got smashed by something in my purse and would make a loud "quack, quack, quack" noise, but I thought it might be helpful if I ever needed to scare someone off. A grown woman with a little duck that quacks on her key ring is kind of scary, right? Anyway, so I do, in fact, need another keyring to keep organized. I'm really hoping that #3 shows up for my birthday next week though. Since the bag was released by Baggu last week, I've been showing it to B non-stop. I figure he'll get so sick of me talking about it, he'll just have to get it for my birthday. See, I'm always thinking ahead...

Wish list 5.1.12
A new wish list to start off a new month! Here's what I'm liking right now:
1// For Me, For You is releasing a new line of necklaces today and this sherbert/white combo ($60) is calling my name. Love the combination of baked clay and leather.
2// I've been looking for the perfect shade of aqua skinnies and this mid rise pair ($88) is not too green not and too blue which in my book, makes them strong contenders.
3// Love the mix of canvas, twill, and leather in the Taplin Kaleidoscope bag ($135) by Shelter. The pop of color is a plus too.
4// If I can't be at the beach every day this summer, I'd like to bring the beach home. A sea salt tin candle ($20) outta do it.
5 and 6// These two tops ($88 and $68) available at RGB have an effortless bohemian vibe that would look great paired with shorts or jeans.

Stripes and shorts. It's a simple wish list today, no doubt. But when the Southern heat comes barreling in, I want to be prepared with pieces that are easy to mix and match. The Jackson T ($29.99) and midi shorts ($59) might just become my summer staples. These and a cold glass of lemonade (of course, I am a Southern gal after all).

Wish list 3.20.12
1) The combo of the soft tangerine color and the split back make this top ($36) a winner in my book. Pair it with skinny jeans and you're good to go.
2) The combination of pyrite and elastic is unexpected in this bracelet ($68) by Cursive Design. I could easily see this becoming my go-to everyday bracelet.
3) Oh lookie here, more shoes! Can you tell where my mind has been lately? Love the neutral tones and bold platform on this Lucky brand shoe ($89).
4) My skin is getting weird with the season change and I think a deep cleaning with a rosehip and clay mask ($25) is just what I need to get my pores under control. At least I hope that's all my skin needs!
5) Who doesn't want a knitted cactus ($97) in their office? I know I do! Handmade by Odds & Ends.
6) Made from cotton duck and Italian leather, this lunch box ($45) is functional and easy on the eyes. Definitely a step up from my current lunch bag.

Wish list 2.8.12
1) This is my favorite print ($40 for 8x10) from Emma Leonard's recent work. Love the color combination and I think it would look pretty rad hanging in our house.
2) A jersey knot bracelet ($30) in simple stripes is perfect for warmer weather. I have a goal to wear more bracelets this year, I just need to start a collection I actually think I'd wear and this one looks especially comfy.
3) Made from upcycled leather, this simple wrap clutch ($48) by Stitch & Hammer would be a nice switch from my too-big workbag.
4) I've been on a mad search for a neutral (as in no pattern, not too loud) dress for my sister-in-law's wedding. This is proving to be much harder than I imagined. This embossed ponte number ($128) in grey is neutral but the texture makes it interesting. I'm still debating but this one is definitely in the running.
5) When I'm not at the office, you'll probably catch me with a fedora on my head and this striped number ($12.94) would translate as easily at the beach as it would around town. Plus, the price is right.

Wish list 1.26.12
1) Do you see those little blue shapes on the top of that dress ($80.57)? They're cats and they're awesome! Cheeky but still very wearable. I need this dress.
2) Nautical never gets old for me and this anchor bracelet ($60) by Miansai is the perfect blend of casual meets chic. I'd wear it to dress up a plain tee and jeans.
3) What's better than a pair of comfy, colorful oxfords ($148) to transition out of boots for Spring? The little tassels on the shoelaces adds the perfect finishing touch.
Can you tell that I'm getting ready for warmer weather?
