Landscape Pouches

I think these landscape pouches by Mexican designer Sara Beltrán are perfectly off beat and pretty rad. They're available in her shop - Shop Dezso ($65). I never thought I'd feature an accessory with flamingos on it, but alas, there's always an exception to the rule and I've gotta say, I love those flamingos!

Find more awesome pouches here and here.

Shop: Flight 001

Flight 001 is a one stop shop for all things travel. Carrying brands like Co-Lab, Herschel Supply Co., Baggu, and Fjällräven, not only is the selection of bags fantastic, but they also carry travel essentials to help you sail through security at the airport. Or through a long weekend visiting family.

Random side note- last month when I flew to Texas, I accidentally forgot about the water bottle in my bag and I attempted to go through security. A TSA officer pulled me aside and asked me if I wanted to check my bottle of water. Ha! I thought it was a joke but he was very serious about it and I said, "nah, I think you can throw it away." Whoops! Also, who the heck would check a $1 bottle of water?!

Wish List 10.18.11

1) Now here's a cozy knitted pony cardigan that I would love to wear. Sure it looks like a pattern my seven year old niece would also wear but that doesn't bother me. Not. One. Bit.
2) I love the layering of these simple wooden triangles in this necklace by Emedemarta.
3)This gold flecked nail polish is an instant pick me up. Perfect for the holidays (found via a cup of joe).
4) If I carried around my own pocket knife I wouldn't need to pester B for his. This one's functional and pretty.
5) Scout and Catalouge's bags are perpetually on my wish list. This dual toned foldover is my new favorite.

Do you have any fun plans this weekend? It's another rainy weekend in North Carolina and as much as I've enjoyed my time off as I wait for my new job to start, I am eager to get back to work. Until then though, we'll be hanging out, taking it easy and enjoying these lazy days while we have them. Hope you have a wonderful weekend! xo

My Favorite Vintage

Two of my favorite items to buy vintage are boots and handbags. My Favorite Vintage happens to offer a great selection of both of these items, including the pair of boots I mentioned in last Friday's post. I feel like I can just smell the vintage leather as I type these words. Mmmmmmm.

Wish list 9.12.11

Guess who got offered the job she really wanted? I guess those interview clothes paid off, right?! Anyway, I'm super excited, relieved and grateful to have found not just any job, but a good job in my field. Moving to a new place without employment was risky and scary and we had to defend our decision to more than a few people who thought we were being less than sensible. I've learned a lesson through this whole thing though. The only person you need to believe in you is YOU. Believe in yourself and chances are, you'll be A-OK.
Ok, now for the point of this post. I'm looking for a new work bag. Something that's big enough to hold all the essentials and just in time for fall. I'm really liking these two handmade options by Infusion. Herringbone or stripes? Hmmm...

Zara Online Shop

Zara's online shop is finally open for business as of today! Here are my favorite picks for fall:
1) boat neck dress $79.90 2) shirt with shoulder gathering $59.90 3)  biker ankle boot $99 4) bell bottom jeans $59.90 5) large motera bag $129

As you can tell, I'm still thinking about my work wardrobe (or lack thereof). My last office was wonderfully casual but I think it's about time I took it up a notch. These staples seem like good affordable options to get my fall work wardrobe started, don't you think?

Wish list (Outfit)

Each of these items made it to my wish list separately. Combined, I think they make one snazzy little outfit.

D&OC Loves: Handmade Leather Pouches

The top cluster of leather clutches are upcyled from leather sofas and are available at Poketo ($44). Because these are upcycled and handmade, no two are exactly the same.
The bottom group are handmade by rennes ($40). I love the striped detailing inside of each and the 5" size is perfect for storing all the smaller items floating around a bigger bag.

Don't make me choose a favorite. I'll take one of each please.

Wish list 5.6.11

I haven't posted a wish list in a couple of weeks and I really had to narrow down my choices because it was getting a little out of control. Although B and I are working the Total Money Makeover and I won't be purchasing anything for myself for quite some time (sad, I know, but the times they are a-changing), my birthday is coming up so the wish list items will keep coming (hint, hint).
Well, what are you weekend plans friends? I'm headed to Ikea this weekend in hopes of finding some items for the Foster Care Visitation room. This past week, another awesome blogger agreed to purchase a toss pillow and a local cafe gave me a $300 budget to buy a rug! Whew, still lots to do and Ikea is a chore in and of itself, no? Anyway, I hope you have a lovely weekend! xo

p.s. Won't you take a moment and check out the awesome array of sponsors on the right hand sidebar? They help keep D&OC up and running so I hope you'll visit their lovely shops!

SHABD + BAGGU

The collaboration between SHABD and BAGGU is a match made in design heaven (can you tell I'm liking collaborations this week?). There are two styles available: the tote ($48) and the backpack ($58). Both styles are made from 100% recycled cotton duck canvas and hand dyed by artist Shabd Alexander (posted about here). The colors are so pretty, there's no way I can decide on just one!

Wishlist 3.16.11

Pretty summer weight, hand dyed scarves from dear june $50 via lanalou style. I really love this color.
I'd really like to add these understated, confetti 'thank you' cards by tokketok ($12 for 3) to my collection.
I try not buy products on the packaging alone, but this Honey'do shampoo and conditioner ($30) is sulfate free and formulated with organic honey. The adorable packaging is simply the icing on the cake.
You know my wish list is never complete without at least one pair of shoes. These grey chambray lace ups from Toms ($69) are exactly what I'm looking for in a comfy pair of kicks.
This tote for Lotta Jansdotter ($76) would be the perfect accompaniment to a Saturday morning Farmers' Market trip. So excited for that it to be that time again!
