Interiors: Workspaces and pops of color

I need some color in my workspace and these examples have just the right amount without being overstimulating.  All of these spaces include fantastic wooden desks along with clever splashes of color and quirky designs that remind us that work should be fun.  Even when it isn't.

Interiors: Simple Wooden Desk

I adore simple wooden desks for home work spaces.  They're look great in almost any room and if you know a carpenter (or are savvy enough to make one on your own), you can have the desk made to your own specifications.  I like them best as seen above: simple, uncomplicated, functional and small. A perfect spot for catching up on all those letters that need to be written...

Interiors: Deep Sultry Green

Deep, sultry green is not a color I would normally use in my poorly lit home.  These spaces, however, make me re-think its use.  It's really a lovely color full of a romantic moodiness that's easily layered and complimented by gold and natural wood accents.

I especially like the use of it in an outdoor space as seen in the last example.  Certainly a contrast to the modern whites currently favored.  What do you think about these deep green spaces?

Monday talk

Happy Monday everyone! It's only 8am and I have piles (yes, more than one) of paperwork on my desk. I'm also quite behind on my blog reading and DIY projects, but I'm 1/4 way through my coffee so (fingers crossed) I'm hoping to have a productive day.
If only my desk looked like this...but we'll pretend like it does.
I've made some pretty important decisions this weekend regarding the next year of my life and the direction of this blog. It's hard to make decisions on blind faith, especially when one decision isn't obviously better than the other. Hopefully I've got it right though, and if not, there's always time to change. Right?
I'm hoping to share more soon...

Now I'm off to tackle that first pile (yikes!)
