My first documented DIY project...

...and it's not very exciting.  Don't get your hopes up here, this won't be appearing on Design Sponge anytime soon, but I'm still pretty excited about it.   We've been using a coffee table that belongs to Brad and I'd hinted before that I don't like it and something HAD to change.
It's not a horrible coffee table, but it was nicked up and I think Bella tried to use one of the corners as a chew toy when she was younger.
Following Kotori's advice, I lightly sanded it (and by light, I mean, pretty light...I don't like to get myself tired).  Then I used a low odor primer which would have been easy peesy had Kya not insisted on getting in my way.  I mean, look at her, what does she do all day while I'm at work that makes her so sleepy?
About three coats of Benjamin Moore semi gloss white and three beers later, we have a new white coffee table!  I have say, it wasn't hard at all, and B even likes it so it's a win-win situation.
Kya is in every picture because she's a camera whore.  Really, she wouldn't get out of my way.
So now I'm on a DIY kick and want to change all sort of things.  We definitely need to reupholster two vintage chairs, but that's going to be a bit more work than my humble coffee table.  I'll be sure to keep you up to date on all the exciting (or not so exciting) DIY projects.

Turned out great! So glad my little "tutorial" inspired you... that's really what I'm hoping to do with my little blog. The table looks so much better and a little more contemporary now. Can't wait to see what other DIY projects you'll take on next!

Wow what a great job you have done! here in Italy there is not so much the culture of DIY, as you have in the United States or in Great Britain. I think it is a really smart way to modernize your own house in an economic way. If you ask a specialist craftsman here in Italy, to do a job like the one you did, I can't imagine what huge amount of money he would claim!thank you for the wonderful words that you always leave on my blog!

It looks great. I love the "I don't like to get myself tired" part - that made me laugh out loud. That's exactly why I don't do a lot of DIY!
