One Doctor, 60 bucks, and a valuable lesson learned

First of all, let me thank all of you for your kind words and support. When I started this little 'pet project' I never imagined it would be a place where I would readily receive encouragement (or medical advice!) I told B this morning that I shouldn't have seen the Dr. and just followed some of you comments (thank you Teri Rees Wang). Here's the lesson I learned from yesterday's experience:
**Trust your instincts and don't let anyone make you feel stupid.
I should have stood my ground with the Dr. when he tried to give me a medication I knew wouldn't settle well. Last night, I took the antibiotic with plenty of food (as directed) and I spent most of the night violently ill - I'll spare you the details, but B had to clean up after me more than once, God love him. I'm not at work today as I haven't moved from my bed, but I am holding down ginger ale a little piece of bread so recovery is on its way! What's my next step you might be wondering? Well, I'm going to rest and follow some of the 'remedies' you all suggested, but I'm not going to try another antibiotic for now. I'm a firm believer that my body will heal itself (w/a little help of course) and my sinuses already feel better from the Claritin-D I took yesterday. If I hadn't allowed the Dr. to make me second guess myself and patronize me with his attitude, I would have spared myself a lot of icky-ness. I learned a lesson though and I won't allow a doctor (or anyone for that matter) to ever bully me into something I'm not comfortable taking/doing etc.
On another note, you all probably know by now how much I love vintage. I've been poking around on the Night Owl Vintage (formally known as Femina Style Vintage) website and I'm pretty smitten with the selection. The owner of this fabulous shop also has a great blog that is on my daily reading list.
Pac Man Shift Dress $22.50
(sold out, and it should be at that price, but you get the idea)
Looking for a statement necklace?
Gold Leaf Necklace $26
Tie it this around your neck, hair, or bag and your outfit just became a bit more interesting.
Fruit Stripe Scarf $8
Do I even need to tell you why I like this little guy?
Gray Ceramic Owl $8.50

Ok, I will be back later for some less serious, non-complaining posts. Thanks for reading and keep the comments coming!

Eek! I am glad to hear you're feeling better.

I hate being sick.

I'm a huge fan of letting the body heal itself. My advice: get lots of sleep.

So sorry you had such an awful time! I recently also took an antibiotic that made me sick to my stomach for days.

Hope you're feeling better :)
