After two failed rolls and some minor cursing, I finally have a successful roll from my new Holga. I decided to bring the camera to Texas because I am NOT a quitter (except for when it comes to Monopoly because that game is simply way too long). I think B and my sweet nephew Xavier make the perfect models :)
You can check out the rest of the shots on
my Flickr page. Happy New Year y'all!
p.s. I think the use of "y'all" + the calf fry I ate yesterday make me a hard core Texan, don't you think?
p.p.s. If you don't know what calf fries are, look them up. You'll either be disgusted or have a new found respect for me.

velvet cupcakes
is that like when i was in colorado and someone had me try rocky mountain oysters? oh my. ;) fabulous pictures, seriously! and seriously...happy new year!!
Lomography is always so saturated and blue but I love that you've gone B&W here. It's fantastic. And well done for keeping at it. Sometimes I develop rolls of film and can use only 1 out of 36 exposures. My favourite is the vertical one of your nephew holding the beach ball!
Happy NYE, Christina!
Awesome pics! I just got a new Holga.. I am so excited about my new hobby-project!
Any helpful tips? :)

good on you to not quit. they look great. happy new year!
OMFG! I just looked up calf fry!!! I think you might need to do an entire post on just that experience. I'm dying to know more . . . especially given that I will only ever experience the calf fry vicariously. :)
baily jones- you're going to have so much fun with your new toy! my only suggestion is to make sure the film is loaded correctly and then just have fun. be patient too, it takes a little while to get the hang of it. good luck. xo
It's crazy to see people in blog town that you follow coming to your state. What area of Dallas were you in? I live by DFW airport so just wondering?
Rita
rita- we're about 20 minutes from fort worth and about 50 miles from dallas. you live in a lovely state!

Wow, fantastic photos! We have yet to get any of our Holga film developed because no one (I mean no one) develops 120 film in our city. Lame, right? So I will have to mail our film off somewhere.
Ew, just googled a calf fry! You are a more adventurous eater than me :)
