Wishlist 8.31.10

Every fall, the Hunter wellies go back on my wish list and every year, I end up not getting them, much to my regret.  I'm bound and determined not to allow that to happen this year.  I'm not sure if I want the original tall ($125) or the or the sleekly designed Regent ($150), but if you run across a sale let me know because I cannot go another year with a dependable rain boot.  If you have some Hunter wellies, I'd love to know your thoughts.  Are they comfy?  Have you had any problems with them? Which design do you like?

I know what you mean! Early this year I thought I NEEDED a pair of Hunter's and specifically the Violet ones. I called stores all across the country to no avail. Yesterday at Bloomie's they had a whole section on rain-boots and an entire table of HUnters (incl, the violet ones) and you know what? At this point in the year - I couldn't stomach buying rain boots. Esp. thinking I live in So Cal! Nevertheless I'll probably be kicking myself next Jan. for not buying it now.

I love mine. I bought a men's 5..which I thought I read would be a 6 womens. They are a little snug. I found them on Amazon for $99. They were a shiny red when I got them, but they bloomed and now are orangy red. But they are still perfect. I read that you can spray them with wetsuit cleaner and it should help with the blooming. Bring on the rain!

I even got some pictures taken in them the other day. You should get them.

I'm in the same boat! With no Hunter boots! Every time I think I'm going to go ahead and do it, I find that I can't make up my mind about which color to get. Everyone I know who has them, loves them!

I hadn't heard of the "regents" line by Hunter. I finally took the plunge but got the "huntress" ones in Navy blue meant for shorter people with chubby legs I guess.
I also got the sock liners but they are still pretty roomy and hard to walk up and down stairs or drive in them. Overall I'm really happy with the boots.

I do the same exact thing ...never think it rains enough to justify buying them but then when it's raining I curse myself for not buying them. Annoying. I've definitely seen them go on sale at Gilt before ...so fingers crossed for this year.

I just got a pair of wellies in the mail today, though they're not so high-end as Hunters. Still nice...we'll need them with the snowy season coming. Snow = icky slush in your socks/flats!

I resisted for the longest time. I had several pairs of $25 rain boots (that were super cute) tear and get my feet soggy. Well, I broke, and bought the grey knee high ones in glossy. They run big. I am a 7 1/2 and got the 7. They have fleece liners for the winter. I got those in black. I got mine from Nordstrom online I believe. The liners from Piper Lime.

I've always a LEGIT pair of wellies but my question was would i wear them if i splurged?? i just bought a pair of MBMJ for $28, and if i can't wear those, i don't deserve to even have them in my closet.
I think if you have your heart set on it, go for it!

and ps- thanks for your comment. xo

I have hunter wellies! I got the short ones because I am short and could not have so much of my legs covered up by the tall ones.

My husband is Irish and we spend several weeks a year "at home" in Ireland. Since it rains all the time there, I own several pairs of wellies. I have a few that I leave in Ireland and one pair that I have here in San Diego (I have worn them once in 3 years).

I love the Hunters wellies, but all of my pairs have been bought at a hardware store in Ireland. They were all under 45 euros and in my opinion much more "authentic."

I have the trademark green pair that you can see any farmer wearing any day of the year in my husband's hometown.

So, I have no Hunters experience, but I know that my discount pairs fit like a glove, so I assume these will be awesome!

I never bought a pair because they seemed so uncomfortable but I got a pair that are lined and cushioned inside and I can't wait to wear them! I think it's a good winter investment and you'll have them for years!

I moved from London to the English countryside in January and the first thing I did was purchase some Hunter Wellies! I now have them in 3 different colours and they are singularly THE BEST THING I EVER BOUGHT! Swapping Manolo's for countrywear was always going to be hard, but these babies have made the transition a sartorial delight! BUY SOME xxx

I bought some on Ebay this spring, and they are amazing! They are a bit big, but I plan to get the sock inserts for wetter/colder days. I would keep an eye open on Ebay from personal sellers, so you don't get ripped off (if you chose to go that direction).

Oh my goodness - every time it rains i tell myself that i can't delay getting a pair of these. But then I never do! Perhaps this year?
My sister has had hers for at least 4 years and absolutely adores them. Doesn't know how she lived without them. Laughs at me for not having my own pair!

i love my hunter wellies. i have them in aubergine. seriously a great investment. i wear mine a lot in the fall and pretty much everyday the whole winter. they are really comfortable too. :)

I got some green Hunter's in Florence (on sale last winter!) and they are DURABLE. Before these I'd already gone through 3 pairs, each breaking because I wasn't willing to just cough up money for good quality ones. Get them! You'll love them, and they'll love you right back :)

Get them! They're awesome. I have them in a dark purple color and they make me happy every time I put them on. They are not the most comfortable shoes I own, but they're not awful, either.

I got them on zappos.com. I get all my shoes there, and I love them with all my shoe-crazy heart.

Congrats on your nuptials!
