Wishlist 1.24.11

A few new items on my ever growing wish list:
photo hangers $9.50 (via black eiffel)
Nobel Lace-up $68
Fortune Cookie Coin Purse $45 (via greedy girl)
wild wild west umbrella $19
Beatrice Top by hound design $98
I've started keeping track of my wish list items with wishpot, a website that makes it easy to bookmark items, sort by priority of want/need, and the site will even alert you if one of your coveted items goes on sale.  Since I'm not entirely selfish, I've also started lists for gift ideas for special people in my life so that when a birthday or holiday creeps up too quickly, I already have my ideas in one place.  Sweeeeet.

Wishlist 8.31.10

Every fall, the Hunter wellies go back on my wish list and every year, I end up not getting them, much to my regret.  I'm bound and determined not to allow that to happen this year.  I'm not sure if I want the original tall ($125) or the or the sleekly designed Regent ($150), but if you run across a sale let me know because I cannot go another year with a dependable rain boot.  If you have some Hunter wellies, I'd love to know your thoughts.  Are they comfy?  Have you had any problems with them? Which design do you like?

Rainy Day Outfit

If you've seen the weather channel lately, then you know the South has experienced a lot of rain over the past couple of days. By "a lot" I mean a few rain showers really , but relatively speaking, it's seems like a lot. My hair's sticking out every which way and my general mood is a little bleh, so I've decided to come up with my perfect (fall) rainy day outfit. I think having a nice, rainy day outfit in my little arsenal of clothing might make these gloomy days a little brighter. Most importantly, none of these pieces are over $50!

I prefer dress on rainy days so as not to worry about the bottom of pants dragging in puddles.
Perennial Bloom Chiffon Dress $49.99

via Ruche
Snap Strap Belt $6.80

via Forever 21
The plum colored rain jacket is functional without being too dowdy.
Grape Stomping Jacket $44.99
via here
I have searched hi and low for cute rain boots I can afford and that don't make me look like I'm in third grade again. These fit the bill.
Equestrian Rainboot $48

via UO
This frilly, dome shaped umbrella is just girly enough.
Clear Dome Frill Umbrella $30

via Topshop

I opened my eyes
And looked up at the rain,
And it dripped in my head
And flowed into my brain,
And all that I hear as I lie in my bed
Is the slishity-slosh of the rain in my head.

I step very softly,
I walk very slow,
I can't do a handstand--
I might overflow,
So pardon the wild crazy thing I just said--
I'm just not the same since there's rain in my head.

If I get wet, I will melt

There are some thing in this life that we use over and over again. I guess you could say, we need them, or at least they make things a bit more convenient. Case in point- the umbrella. Sometimes it's fun to dance and sing in the rain (people do that, right?) and other times, getting wet isn't an option. I've always ended up buying cheap umbrellas and then losing them. I wonder if I lose them b/c I'm just not attached? Well, if I got one of these umbrellas, I don't think I'd lose it b/c it would probably be the cutest part of my outfit! Each of the umbrellas below are $39 a piece and each style comes in different colors.
