Fall Shopping: for the office

I'm not going to lie.  The truth of the matter is, I don't love shopping for office attire.  It feels a little like work, if you know what I mean.  My closet is in desperate need of sprucing up so I've decided that I'm going to stick to purchasing only items that I can mix and match and easily accessorize as well as dress down or up so that it feels less like "office shopping" and more like, "yay, let's go shopping!" Here are my picks:

1)  pleat collar blouse $80 2) peakaboo sequin cardigan $49.99 (was $118)
3) tab jacket $135 4) essential knit turtle neck dress $68
5) true straight pants $49.50 6) city classic pencil skirt $59.50
7) striped cowl neck t $19.50 8) equilateral necklace $42
9) medium leather buckle satchel $100 10) seychelle's flamingo ballet flat $89.95

See anything you like?

  1. I agree about office attire. It's usually drab. I'm totally liking that peakaboo sequin cardigan. It's too cute!! I like that necklace too!

  3. Cardigan! Aaaah!

I also hate shopping for "work" clothes. Thankfully, I don't need to worry about it at my present job, but I've had to in the past and it was a pain.

  5. I always have to shop for work appropriate clothing because I work in an business casual office that doesn't allow jeans, sleeveless shirts and skirts above the knee. I do a ton of shopping at Ann Taylor Loft because it is affordable and tons of the clothes can go from office to out on the town.

  6. The knit dress is a great piece. I'm kind of boring, pencil skirts and sheath dresses seem to be mainly what I go for. I did get a cute short jacket last season though.

  13. Those are all such amazing pieces! I actually enjoy shopping for work clothes, I like the challenge of finding pieces that are versatile enough to dress up for work or dress down for the weekend.

  14. Great picks! I don't have dressy office attire (I can wear sandals and leggings even) but I love the blouse, cardi, jacket, striped tee, necklace, bag and flats you picked! Whew! That's just about everything! And black pants and a camel skirt are classic!

  15. I like all your picks and could really some new flats for fall. I will be on the hunt very soon! The good thing about your choices is that most of them can be switched up for outside the office!

  16. I've worked in a few places and each time the dress code has varied, meaning I get stuck with pieces from one job and don't work at the next. Luckily I don't need to shop for work clothes anymore but now I sometimes find my wardrobe is too casual and I can't find anything current to wear that's a little more dressy!
