Plate Wall

I know I've been posting on being sick, and I promise this is the last I'll mention it, but I thought I'd share how this antibiotic fiasco has ended up. So this morning I woke up feeling like I was under water (lots of pressure, can't hear very well). B's mom and I had talked and she encouraged me to get a Z-pack and take the antibiotics for fear the infection would get worse. I had called the Dr. yesterday and didn't hear back so I called them this morning. Please keep in mind that I am a nice person. Just keep that in mind...
Me: I'd like to check on the status of my prescription which was supposed to be called in, but hasn't been.
Receptionist: Yes, well, the Dr. left you a note. Let's see... it says 'take with food.'
Me: (I may or may not have raised my voice at this point b/c really people, WTF?). WHAT?!? Let me explain something to you (voice getting louder), I DID take the medicine with food as I CAN READ LABELS and I followed the instructions. I did not suffer from a simple sore stomach, I was VIOLENTLY ill (voice increasing a bit more). I HAD TO MISS WORK so YOU tell the Dr. to give me something else!!! (If I could have weaseled my way through the phone line, I would have potentially choked the receptionist.)
Receptionist: Ummmmm, ok, I'll see if a different Dr. will prescribe you a Z-pack.
Me: Fabulous. You go do that. (Picture me w/smoke coming out of my congested ears).
Alas, I have my Z-pack in tow and I'm on my way (fingers crossed) to recovery.

Now for the style part of this post. I'm tossing around ideas for our living area. We have a small TV and blank wall surrounding it so I was thinking plates? Here's what I'm talking about:
I used to have that carpet as it's from Ikea and it was great until Kya decided to throw her breakfast up on it (thank goodness she's cute).

I like how the plates form a design extending to the other wall.

Black and white against light bluish/purple is so chic.

I want those chairs.

See, that could be me, sitting against my wall of plates!

I have a lot of work to catch up on, but I'll be back this weekend blogging away and catching up on your wonderful posts. Happy Friday!

Ugh. I just read your "lesson learned"... Hope you are feeling better asap.

Love the mix of different colors & sizes with the plates. Makes it quite interesting.

I feel that in the blogger world it is completely appropriate, and not at all stalkerish, to say this...

I feel that we would be such good friends in "real life!" Your blog brightens my day :)

Love the Z pack... hope you'll be feeling better soon.

On a style note - WOW, that last picture is fab.u.lous. I really like all of them (and think it's a great idea to do the whole wall) but there's something about that last one. Maybe it's the size or the way they pop against the color of the wall.

Please post pictures if you end up doing it! I'd love to see.

By the way, adding you to my blogroll. I LOVE your blog!

I love love love the first and fourth pictures! I actually thrifted some plates last weekend to do something just like this. But, I couldn't bring myself to spend $3.50 for each plate hanger when I spent $.50 or $1.00 per plate. I need to find a reasonable deal on them somewhere. Thanks for the great inspiration!

I hope you feel better really soon...enjoyed your talk with....
I love the plate idea...love the picture where the plates move from one wall to another...
The great thing about it is you can make a large statement in scale without breaking the bank...CAM

Plate walls are awesome. Just be careful not to knock into them! I have a feeling mine would fall off and shatter.

I hate it when I have to get p*ssed-off in order to get results...glad you got your z-pack, though! You'll be feeling better in no time!

Beautiful beautiful plates. I love the groupings. all of them.

I hope by now you feel better! What a pain!

I really like the look of plates, here. When one says "plates" I automatically think of my grandma's living room. These rooms look great!
