I think it's pretty obvious to all of you by now (and it will soon become apparent to new readers) that I am not afraid of color. As a painter, color has always spoken to me and I choose to have it around, however, there is something so fragile and lovely about all white spaces...
Normally, I'd leave white spaces to other design bloggers (yes, I'm talking to you Blair at Delight by Design, who posts the prettiest neutral spaces). However, the past couple of days, I've found myself daydreaming about romantic, ethereal white bedrooms and I can't help myself...so here are some I'm drooling over.
This bisque color adds age and ambiance to the space that stark white simply cannot achieve.source: We heart it
The white against the dark wood creates a bold contrast (and who doesn't want a bed nook?)

This room has a country, retro feel that is kind of child like.

With stark minimalism, this bed becomes a piece of art (that I wouldn't mind crawling into for a long nap!)

This is a well designed white space that is anything but boring (and how cute is that bedside table?)

With windows and lighting like that, white is the perfect choice.

Romantic, feminine, and understated...

As much as I like the idea of a white bedroom, I have a feeling that with help from my dogs, the white would soon become a muddy beige and I am not nearly OCD enough to keep it clean. Does anyone out there have a white space? How do you maintain it?

White rooms are gorgeous, they are so crisp and clean:) I love the second room!
Those all look so comfortable! I love them!
i am loving these all white spaces...especially the 1st one...thanks for sharing!!!
We are so on the same page. I love color! But lately I seem to be drawn as well, but all these lovely bloggers that fill my screen with amazing white rooms. I now want to paint the town white! I don't know if I could actually do it, but I'm thinking maybe trying it out in one room.
Thank you for the sweet mention!
These rooms are just drop dead beautiful!! I just love the second one with the bed tucked in to the alcove! I adore nooks.
I am like you - love looking at these white spaces, but could never do it myself. I like color waaay to much, add to that dog+2 kids= no longer white furnishings!
There is something so serene and peaceful about white. I always feel clean and so pure wearing anything white or in a room with various textures of white. I love the examples you show here of how truly elegant it can be :)
Tres belle!

I want to LIVE in some of these rooms. inspiring.
But I think my dogs would dirty up the white too much, so it may not be a wise move. OH...dreamy. great post!
these are so beautiful!!! but like you, i know the pets (or the time of the month!) would mess it up. but i love the bisque one the most. i never would have thought to go with that, and it works so well! :)
Those rooms are totally enticing, especially the bed nook, which is so charming and adorable. White always appears so clean/inviting/pure, but I have to say . . . it terrifies me. I feel certain that within a matter of minutes my pillows would have makeup on them, my comforter would be splashed with red wine and pen marks, the floor would be a smattering of all the dirt/color/excess in my life. I think the serenity of all that white would soon be negated by the constant stress of spilling stuff!
xoxo
I'm w/ you: loving the white but could never get away w/ it. The dog and the hubs would most definitely make it turn into a splotchy gross brown in no time flat. :(
you know I love white right? these are all so gorgeous :)
These are all so beautiful. I love the white, but it isn't practical for me at this time in my life:)
i usually think that white rooms are a little mental institutish..but ilove what you've presented...
Dude, that's my bedroom! (The second to the last one.) I've been waiting to post it on my blog because I have something in store . . . and you beat me to it! I kind of yelped when I saw it. :) So anyway, I have two dogs - two shedding machines - and basically, they are not allowed on the bed. Period. Otherwise, that room wouldn't look anything like that(!) And by the way, I'm a painter too(!) so color is very important to me but as you say, there is just something about a white room. (And I don't normally use so many exclamation points but this post called for it!)
Haha, I totally know what you mean about Blair finding the best spaces.
These, however, are pretty fabulous.
I love these rooms. I, for one, cannot wait for the day when I have a Chandelier over my bed. The first room is gorgeous.
In our all white bedroom, the dogs are not allowed on the bed. It's a sacrifice because I want to snuggle with them in bed all the time but when I get in my clean, all white bed at night, it's all worth it. As for the rest of the house, forget about it. I gave up that fight a long time ago!
