Easy, breezy escapism

I'm in denial friends. Total and utter denial.
I understand it's not the season for summery beaches (at least not here in the U.S) but I don't care. The darkness, humidity, and dreary days (and the fact that I don't see natural light for 9 hours out of the day, while at work) is beginning to make me a little stir crazy.
In order to not get into a complete piss poor mood, I'm going to practice a little escapism. What better way to do that thenwith soothing natural light, open windows, and comfy bedrooms.

Ahhhh, I'm feeling better already. I can almost feel the soft breeze on my face, oh wait, that's my fan. Eh, whatev.
What forms of escapism have you been practicing lately? (keep it rated PG-13 please, but if you have some really juicy tips you can email me!)

I think I actually squealed out loud when I saw these. Beautiful! I ran through all the pictures out of excitement and am now going back through to study. Perfect escape from the rain!

I wouldn't mind staying in one of those rooms, whole day, whole night and not going anywhere.

i'm not a white space person (and designer) but the 4th shot is so pure. i would love to spend a week away in a room like this one.

Those are all so pretty! I, too, am going stir crazy. It's been so cold here and all I want to do is go to the beach or swim or something!

My escapism is nothing exciting... I just keep myself surrounded with everything that makes me happy. An extra Starbucks treat here and there, doing lots of baking, finding pictures of things that make me smile and saving them on my computer for a rainy day...

We can dream. That's what white rooms and with window views are for.

oh these are beautiful! and the exact opposite of the grey and rainy day that i am looking at out the window!

my latest forms of escape? wine and reading. and maybe a little WHINE, too. :( and i just got a dvr (and an exercise bike so that i don't feel QUITE so guilty watching so much tv!)!

SO sorry you don't have any sunlight!!! That's the worst. My coping tip is to pick a really great desktop for your computer - something very bright and natural (ocean scene, whatever). Also, get an extra lamp for your desk (with a clear light bulb is best). It makes the space so much brighter!

ahh.... to have an ocean view like that ~~~

I really needed this little mind-escape ... you made me travel in a ocean of peace and of "zenitude" as we say in french. many thanks about that :)

Hopefully I'll find some time to escape back to my piano soon. I'm hoping to start teaching lessons, but I need to work up my chops first.

On another note, my nurse practitioner has told me that many women are deficient in Vitamin D (especially in the winter). Last year I started taking 1000IU of Vitamin D daily and I have noticed that it does help keep those fall/winter/lack-of-sunlight dreary days less severe and to a minimum.

love it.
my sentiments exactly re: the dreary season. God makes even the dreary days but the constant dark and cold makes me want to take the first plane out of here to miami! or something.
great escapism pix.

Ooo. I'll join you on that trip to La La Land.

Awww, that's so nice of you for writing a post just for me! I am so in "escapism" mode. I just had to pare down the commitments this past week to regroup. I'd set up camp in any one of these images in a second!

I'm so into white rooms right now - it's so crisp and clean. I needed this lovely escape, what with all of the rain and gray skies we've been having lately! And now the cold...brrrrrr!
