Rainy Day Outfit

If you've seen the weather channel lately, then you know the South has experienced a lot of rain over the past couple of days. By "a lot" I mean a few rain showers really , but relatively speaking, it's seems like a lot. My hair's sticking out every which way and my general mood is a little bleh, so I've decided to come up with my perfect (fall) rainy day outfit. I think having a nice, rainy day outfit in my little arsenal of clothing might make these gloomy days a little brighter. Most importantly, none of these pieces are over $50!

I prefer dress on rainy days so as not to worry about the bottom of pants dragging in puddles.
Perennial Bloom Chiffon Dress $49.99

via Ruche
Snap Strap Belt $6.80

via Forever 21
The plum colored rain jacket is functional without being too dowdy.
Grape Stomping Jacket $44.99
via here
I have searched hi and low for cute rain boots I can afford and that don't make me look like I'm in third grade again. These fit the bill.
Equestrian Rainboot $48

via UO
This frilly, dome shaped umbrella is just girly enough.
Clear Dome Frill Umbrella $30

via Topshop

I opened my eyes
And looked up at the rain,
And it dripped in my head
And flowed into my brain,
And all that I hear as I lie in my bed
Is the slishity-slosh of the rain in my head.

I step very softly,
I walk very slow,
I can't do a handstand--
I might overflow,
So pardon the wild crazy thing I just said--
I'm just not the same since there's rain in my head.

Great outfit! I really like those rain boots. I bet if I got some, Hudson would think I'm the coolest mom around...especially if I jumped in puddles with him.

This is the outfit for all the Seattle girls, right? Ironically, we're having great weather right now! :) The dress and boots are adorable.

I'm in the search for rainboots right now, but I'm ok with something a little colorful and fun. JCrew usually has such cool ones but I haven't seen them yet...

That dress, umbrella, and rain boot are adorable! I needed this happy post to brightened my spirits. Every day this week we have had tons and tons of rain. Day before yesterday it poured for 3 hours straight. My mulch from the flowerbeds is all washed away and all of my fun projects for the week were rained out. I'm feeling blah too :(

hey, I have those rainboots! lol! I love them- they're perfect for rainy weather but they actually look like real boots that you can wear when it's nice out too :) And I desperately want that umbrella now.

The weather girl keeps teasing us with drizzles but, no such luck. Rather, just another heat wave in L.A. I do love when it pours.

Heart those boots - and here's my favorite rain poem!
"Whether the weather be fine,
Or whether the weather be not,
Whether the weather be cold,
Or whether the weather be hot,
We'll whether the weather
Whatever the weather
Whether we like it or not!"
- From a children's poetry book

OH man I L♥VE the rain you are so lucky girl all we have in Cali is heat sun and then some!

I'd trade a bit of sun for rain any day (esp if I had an outfit like that to dance in the rain with)!!!

Gosh I can see it now, stomping through JD (scrubs) sized puddles in those adorable rainboots.

By the by that is such an adorable poem...!!!

Everything is wonderful - especially your earrings (the colour!!) and the umbrella!! Glad to hear someone else suffers terribly hair wise when it rains!! :(

Looks great!

Just a suggestion, it might be easier for you just to create the look all in one picture using Polyvore.com to give people a better idea of what they look like literally right next to eachother. I've found it quite helpful when trying to explain a look to someone.

choice finds. i kinda prefer this presentation to the polyvore way (there's another programme that has virtual models, eh? but it's quite freaky to me altho it's a straigh-up presentation, no imagination required). but i'm really not sure which is more fun for you :)
