Interiors: Teal + Citron

I feel like I'm battling a constant internal struggle over color, especially with the interiors I post.  Part of me wants to see neutral, comforting colors while the other part of me screams, "you'd never go for blah, you need color in your life!"  This is where teal and citron come in.  It's a sexy, bold combo that loves attention but supported by a neutral backdrop, it remains quite balanced.  Add a pop of red and you can't help but feel invigorated.  Perfect for the wintertime blues, wouldn't you say?

  1. I'm a white-neutral girl too, but I love that bedroom! xo

  2. Yes, I am very drawn to both approaches myself! Neutral or darker colors usually win, but a couple rooms are quite bright in the house! Janell

  11. Love that first living room photo, it's just beautiful.

I am very much a colour girl...as much as I can understand the need for neutrals, I can't bear them unless they're juxtaposed with something colourful, and vibrant which immediately lifts my spirits.

Maybe because my summers are so short, I feel the need to surround myself with colour once the world outside has turned dull and grey.

  18. Great inspiration - these are happy rooms! I'm right there with you on your "internal struggle over color". When we were fixing up houses, I got to pick new colors all the time. Since we've been in our house for three years, I've painted the kitchen 3 times, the office 3 times, and we're repainting the living/hallway right now (a process that in our "free" time is taking months). I really need to learn to sew so that I can quickly and inexpensively change the look of a room by rotating pillows and drapes!

  19. I feel you! We just moved into a (rented) house where the landlord doesn't give a damn what we do and all I've done is obsess about recovering our furniture and painting the walls. Much to the chagrin of the hub, who would rather we not have boxes piled in our spare room.
