Interiors: Glossy Black

B recently made a desk for himself out of salvaged materials and painted the legs a chic, glossy black.  We haven't used glossy black in our home other than aforementioned desk legs but I'm really liking the strong statement it can make in a space, especially when paired with white walls, wood floors, and minty green.  Glossy black has always seemed a little too serious for my tastes but it certainly doesn't have to be.  The glamour of glossy black is kind of growing on me. How about you?

  1. I just painted glossy black on my front door for a pop with some shine. I really like it as well and have never used it previously. Fun to try new things.

  2. LOVE it! The vanity and cabinet in my bathroom were hideous when I bought the place, but I sanded them down and painted them glossy black. They look perfect in my bathroom, which now has white walls with glossy black trim. :-)

  3. I am on the fence. It looks fantastic in the pics you chose, but I don't think it would work in my house. Post a picture of the desk!

  4. I love that staircase!
I've always felt that glossy black is too glamourous for me & my lifestyle. But a pop here and there might be just enough to feel fancy without being pretentious.

It's been AGES since I've left you a comment, but I've loved reading about your wedding. I hope you're doing well! xoxo

  16. I absolutely love gloss black trim. Although I've never used the color in my own home, we painted my sister-in-law and brother-in-law's office (in their 1920's craftsman cottage) a rich, bright apple green with black trim and doors. It's such a fabulous room!
