Not for the beach straw bag

I've always shyed away from straw bags unless I have the over sized (you could fit a small person in here) beach bag. I decided to try to find some smaller straw bags I might actually carry and it looks as though the selection is better than it used to be. Here are a few options for under $60 (because that's how I roll)...
The bag screams 'bohemian chic' and the shape is really nice.
Handbag M..Vental $59.90
via Mango
If you prefer the retro look, a yellow vintage envelope bag is the ticket. It's hard to believe this is a straw bag.
Sunshine Vintage Envelope Purse, Handmade in Italy $18
via Two Toe Design
Although this is 'vintage' it's shape is updated...this would be a great option for work.
vintage Straw leather clutch purse $19
via clever nettle's estate sale
The straw + yellow patent leather combo is mod meets beach.
Yellow trim straw clutch (my guess $25ish, it's in pounds so I can't be sure).
via Dorothy Perkins
I think this is my favorite option because of the long strap and it's black which makes the straw bag feel sort of glamorous.
Deena and Ozzy Straw Purse $38
via UO
Do you designate straw bags to the beach or have your branched out? Do you like the look of straw handbags?

  2. Totally agree! I was never a big fan of straw bags but these are all super cute. I think the first ones a favorite but i'm not a fan of carrying big bags by hand.

Hope you had a great weekend!

  10. After looking at all the purses I had to go back and make sure that I read your blog correctly about all of the purses selected being made from straw! I couldn't get over it! I especially love the yellow one; so bright and friendly.
I usually designate straw for summer but some of the purses you featured I would use ALL the time.lol. :0)

  12. So cute! I'm loving the two in the middle. I'm not sure what I could actually fit in them! Probably use them as a wallet and then put them in my massive purse!

  13. I don't think I have any straw bags but I'd be willing to wear them out and not just to the beach. Especially if it was the one from clever nettle's shop! I love the look of that one!

  14. You and I roll the same way, my friend. $60 or less is my kind of budget. I had a fabulous straw bag last summer and I looooved it, until it fell apart around August. They don't last too long, but it was fun while it lasted.
