Two Grey Bedrooms

elle decoration via happy mundane
design*sponge at home via desire to inspire
The last grey we had in our last home (in the living room) was less than impressive but that doesn't mean I've given up on grey. The previous grey we chose was too flat and too light to make much of an impression. For that reason, I shied away from using grey in our current paint palette.
I really like the grey walls in these two bedrooms along with their fun red bed spreads. I will definitely try grey again, in another home and most likely in the bedroom with lots of white trim and plenty of stripes on the bed. Have you used grey in your home? What was your experience?

I like how the colors pop against the grays and whites. I think most colors work better on walls with a bold white trim. Beautiful examples.

Our bedroom is a light gray, and I love it. I just wanted our room to feel light and calm, and the gray achieved that end. However, I am still looking for a fantastic bedspread to go with the room and I love the red/white stripe!

Our living room is grey, it's Benjamin Moore, "sedona grey." We have dark red as the accent color, with white and black trim. The color scheme is actually really similar to the second picture, but our floors are more of a honey color.

We love the gray in our living room. Especially with the white molding.

We had an awesome gray in our spare room but not even 9 months after we painted it, I got pregnant so we painted again!

i looked for an age for the perfect grey, and never got the nerve to do it. apt therapy put up a good list of paint shades they like in grey, but with no pics. i put up a not very exciting post that shows all their different recommendations for grey paint, though, in case you want to see what they look like; http://pegeens-commitments.blogspot.com/2011/01/paved-with-good-intentions.html

Love the second room - the white trim and the red and white candy stripes make it look so clean and bright!

Haven't used it yet but I want to put it in the bedroom. There's this paint that dries like suede, I thought it would be luxe to have it in grey in the bedroom. Hopefully it works out!

Ihave painted almost every room in my house grey. The kitchen and bath have a dark grey gloss to add depth. The dining room living room entry and master bedroom have a moody medium grey. And the guest bedroom has magenta walls but all the trim, base and picture rails are a dark grey. I love the moody sexy look and feel of grey. Plus it because neutral mixedwith white and I can change out the accent colours on a whim. :)
Hopefully you'll fetid to a grey paint soon. Valspar has great pigmets!!

I love the classic and clean look of grey walls and white trim. My favorite is Thunder by Ben Moore. It lends itself well to accent colors like yellow and purple.

I haven't used it as a wall color (rental house), but it's a great compromise for my boyfriend and I, as I love color and he loves black. We use it as an accent to draw the rooms together. Grey rug, curtains, black and white pictures. It both temper and makes color pop at the same time.
