Hair Inspiration: Lightly Tousled

Since it's about 100 degrees in North Carolina and over much of the country, I'd like to think that no sane individual would willingly blow hot air on their already boiling head and, therefore, hair dryers are being retired nationwide. If you're anything like me and have long hair, you're either sporting the top knot, or allowing it to dry naturally in a frizzy freaking mess lightly tousled look. Admittedly, I realize these examples probably took plenty of heat to achieve, but I feel better fudging the truth and thinking I can achieve a similar with humid air alone. What about you? Have you given your hair dryer a break?

i totally have! i live minutes from the ocean and with after work swims, the heat, the humidity, a break was not only required it was necessary. mine was long and i just cut it to a long bob, was quite the change for me but feels fun ;) hope you are getting along nicely in your new surroundings!

Loreal makes a silicone hair serum that I bought only because it was airline friendly under the magic 3.4 oz. It's awwwwweeeessssooommmme. My mother just complimented my curly hair....usually it looks like the back has a triangle brillo pad stuck in it. French women just let their hair be natural. That's what I tell myself, at least, when I make small children point and cry. :)

I have - its all pinned up in back to keep it off my neck. It actually works well, even though my hair is pretty short. It's given me a pixie meets Jane Austen look and I think I'll stick with it until the oppressive-ness passes.

I've always loved this look, although "frizzy freaking mess" is generally what I achieve when I attempt it. Current hair? Top knot. I admit defeat.

Have you tried Moroccan oil? It's my best trick for beating the frizz!

Man oh man. I pretty much haven't used my blow dryer since I got my first Brazilian blowout. Literally haven't picked it up in months. And when I was in Georgia a couple weeks ago, you couldn't have paid me to blow dry my hair!

I was just commenting to my sister about how I feel like I should take a second shower after blowdrying! Anyway, so I guess I'm one of those freaks. I have been taking a bit of a breather though, by washing my hair at night and letting it air dry. In the morning, I just re-wet my bangs and style them--and then create some waves with a curling iron and call it a day.

I also have been using quite a bit of dry shampoo on the weekends, just so that I can skip a day. My absolute favorite is Lulu Organics hair powder. Especially awesome for fine-haired girls, like me.

oh i wish my hair looked like ANY of these!!!

it is roasting here. i have to blow dry my hair, even in this @*#&!^! weather (for work) but i just can't seem to manage to do much more than that. and it shows! but it is jsut too damn hot to put a whole lot of effort into the hair when it is hot and humid!
