Some suggestions as you decide what to toss and what to keep:
- Have a look at all of your liquid makeup, foundations, concealers, and mascara. Look for any separation, color change, dry places, etc. The presence of any of these things means the item is not worth keeping, so toss it!
- Dry make up like eye shadows, blushes, and powders can be used until you've run out of the product.
- Keeping your brushes clean will keep powdered makeup clean meaning a longer shelf life.
Brightly colored eyeliners and mascaras are some of my favorite trends. To get the most impact with your lashes, apply one coat, curl your lashes and then apply a second coat. Paired with softly flushed cheeks and glossy lips, you'll achieve a clean, floral look.

Nice tips! Actually my vanity space needs a little cleaning and I'm kinda reluctant to throw away some. It really help me save time plus a bonus tips for Spring fashion thats great, I'm Layne now.
I just replaced my broken makeup case and ditched all my old, yucky makeup. It's so nice to have a clean, pared-down makeup case. I definitely want to give tinted moisturizer a try for spring/summer though!
Hi Christina! Great piece. As I know that you're very much into eco-friendly items, have you ever checked out www.spiritbeautylounge.com? It's like an organic Sephora, where every single item sold comes from a sustainable, environmentally friendly company. Bonus, it's very girly, too--and if you order, your package arrives quick as a whip with free samples to boot!
Also, encouraging readers to spring clean their makeup is such a great idea. Microbes are gross, and you certainly don't want them chilling in your foundation or mascara. Chuck it! And replace it with something natural :)
Also, I heard once that if your eyelids are itching close to your lash line, it might be time to replace your mascara. Is this right? I toss at the first itch! But I also use natural mascara and try not to take any chances with bacteria.
Hi Elizabeth! Thanks so much for your feedback. I've sent Layne the question about the mascara and she'll be answering it in the next post. Hope that works for you! xo
