What do you think about stenciled floors? I've never really been a fan myself but after searching high and low for some examples, I found a few that I like (I am open minded after all). My favorite is undoubtedly the first space with the Spanish tile inspired floor. The second space has a very pretty lace design that I can't help but love and the third space is simply a stenciled floor classic that's made its way around the blogosphere and back again. I'm still not sure this look is for me as I'm a bit of a commitment phobe and rugs are just so darn easy to replace. What about you?

I do adore the images of stencil on floors, particularly if the floor is nothing special, it's a great way to spruce it up. But, personally, I'd be hesitant to do anything to a wide plank old wood floor...but everything else is fair game! Love these images! xoxo Beth
the stenciled floors are awesome, but i'm dying over the cabinets in that first picture!
sorry you're allergic to everything:( we need to discuss this further...
hope b is feeling better!!
If I had floors that were beyond repair or refinishing I'd paint them with a stencil in a heartbeat! Probably starting in a laundry room or mudroom (Ha, if I had one!), this can be a great look.

I would try it since it's cheaper than a rug.
i love the first room, i think its a great idea to give a room more character. i wonder how difficult it is to maintain or apply, i might have to look into that in the future! :) xoxo jcd
I LOVE the last pic. That design is beautiful. I have to admit though, the idea of painting our old original hardwood floors is daunting. Even though I do love that last floor, I don't know if I could commit either.
wowwee!! i really LOVE that first room! beautiful!!
I love them. When I was house shopping I secretly kept an eye out for a wood floor that was in such major need for TLC I could get away with painting it. Sadly I didn't end up with paintable floors, but there is always the next house!
I like the last example, but sometimes I see a stenciled floor and think it looks like vinyl from an old kitchen. It CAN be done well, but it's hard.
Love them.....xv
I do actually love the third one, but it would be great in a mud room, something small and less committal.
Wow! Totally stunning. I love the mix of neutral patterns with bold accent colors.
I've always felt the same as you about stencilled floors--it seems so permanent compared to a rug, but that lace one is pretty fabulous!
