So by now you probably already know that I like lists and I especially enjoy making lists when it comes to possible gifts for none other than myself.
B teased me the other day saying, "I bet you already have your Christmas list going."
My response, "pssshshshshshshhh, gawd B, it's not all about me, of course I DON'T know what I want for Christmas."
My thoughts, "holy shit, how did he know? I'll just die if I don't get that Moleskin "Color a Month" planner ."

Seeing as how you all will put up with me blubbering about gifts and clothing and fun stylish thing, I figured I'd start a "Gift Giving" series for the holidays with different stores that I find affordable and fun.

I overheard a woman the other day talking about starting her Christmas shopping and it jolted me into reality that Christmas really isn't that far away! So, this is a great idea to start a list now. I love the MoMA store - I've bought lots of gifts there over the years. I actually have that coffee cup. It's my little souvenir of my NY years when I used to get coffee in a paper cup like that every morning from the same sweet man in a coffee cart on the corner. He made the best coffee!
I just discovered this store and love it.
MoMa is a great gift me guide!
The colorful tapes tickle me, and the Moleskins are a good reminder too.
There are other small museum shops that each offer their own gift list of fun stuff.
My local version is Santa Monica Museum of Art

Oh, I love MOMA stuff and art gallery/museum shop stuff. I found some tiny llama beads at the art museum in San Antonio.
Great stuff.
Amazing how something like masking tabpe can be so beautiful and lustworthy! Also that paperweight is amazing!
You can always make me laugh. :) And you're so right...I've totally got my Christmas list (for myself) started. I need to add that washi paper tape. I've been needing some for ages now. And I think that paper weight is pretty great, too. Although, it would get totally lost on my desk amid all the real paper.
You are too funny girl! Fun gift ideas, I particularly dig that bird house and coffee cup.
yes yes yes...i bought plenty a gift from the MoMA store...they've also got more high end pieces (furniture, etc) at the one across the street (if my memory serves me) from the regular museum store.
Wow, I love all of these! I want the packing tape, especially!!
I've had my Christmas list going since, hmm... Dec. 26th last year!
That masking tape has my name all over it...
the MOMA store is just rad. they have some of the best stuff! and i hope you get to go there in person someday if you haven't already been. the museum is SUPER, and the store is just the icing on the cake! :)
they have the coolest stuff. i can just browse and browse online!
We visited MoMa last month and I spent quite a bit of time in the store... and - needless to say - have bookmarked the online equivilent.
I am anxiously waiting to find the "perfect" fake Christmas tree... and starting my lists of gift giving guides.... I heart Christmas (& come November 1, my home will be filled with holly jolly Christmas music... much to the b/f's shegrin).
I actually started my Christmas list over the summer... how awful is that?!?
I LOVE the masking tape...what a weird thing to love but stuff like that just makes me smile! I am way to in to over organizing and it would be great for me! <3
Oh my gosh, I'm putting the Color a Month on my list. Is it too soon to link this to my son/daughter-in-law?? Uh, don't think so.... here I go!
fun colorful prep bowls!!
I love MOMA's gift store... and am also a fan of Moleskin notebooks. Seriously though, my biggest problem with them is that I think they're so perfect that I have a hard time writing in them. Weirdo. :)
There's going to be a Tim Burton exhibit this winter at the MoMa, and I'll be sure to visit the store when I see it!
I love the MOMA store!!! So many great things, and the prices are good too.
you funny.
I kinda cant get over that paper weight......must.buy.now.
MOMA!! My goodness - sort of a temple to art and culture and groove all at once - fabulous finds here sweetie! I find relentless and subtle mentioning of desired objects suitable for B'days and Christmas is very effective too!! (Just in case the list doesn't fall into his hands by accident!)
What a fun website you have linked to. I also love lists of all kind, as well as gift-giving (and receiving!!) so am really looking forward to more of the same posts. You go girl!
Rose
ahh those are all so cute! i love the spoon fork! such a great idea!
love this post! and thinking about it, i should get on my christmas list too! :) i could also use some of those moleskin journals (really, who couldnt use some of them?!)
The legal pad paper weight is delightful :0)
I have a ton of birds that hang around on my balcony and would love a birdhouse... just want to avoid the bird poop. Maybe that one would work.
