Whimsical Modern

I don't know why, but these past couple of weeks seems to be all about opposites for me.
Big and small, old and new, and now this home featured in Skona Hem. Here, playful whimsical details meet modern, clean lines and a stark white backdrop. One wallpapered accent wall and a fun coat hanger make this space more accessible for people like me who NEED pattern and color.

This giant, oversized mirror opens up a narrow hallway.

This wooden table adds a bit of rustic charm and is nicely (and boldly) juxtaposed against a shiny copper pendant lamp. The art on the walls also soften the space.

Throughout the home, you'll notice an eclectic mix of styles.

No area goes unnoticed, no corner ignored.

Is it weird that although I can appreciate the design aspect of this space, all I really want to do is throw on some big socks and slide around that shiny white floor? I bet I could catch some air on a floor like this.

Haha! That brings me way back to some great memories(the socks sliding on the floor). I love when small spaces have a big design. Makes the room seem grande!

Girl...so many things to love! That tree coat hanger, the white floors, and my favorite chair: the white Barcelona. These spaces are modern yet romantic at the same time. Lately I've been wanting to paint some of my rooms white, so that everything else seems more important in the design scheme.

I love the mirror idea for the hallway :)

More than the striking light of ultra white, there is a balance here of weight and texture that speak up stronger than the subtle tones that anchor each room.

You always post all this gorgeous stuff, and all I can think is "Oooooo, shiny."

I SWEAR I am missing a gene.

That is quite a floor. You would go sailing on it with socks. The rustic element mixed with the modern. Very pretty and it works.

I need to know where I can purchase that clever coat hanger {and I wonder if it comes in black?} So cool!

Cheers.

I love the contrast. It's furniture you would see in a cabin but the rest is so sleek

Now that you mention it, that white floor could be a real pain to keep up, unless you stick a swiffer under those socks.
