Dining without food

I can't believe I forgot to mention this, but about a week ago, B got into (another) bike wreck and sprained his foot! So in a matter of a couple of weeks, we were both able to discover the joys of walking on crutches, and by "joys" I really mean, giant pain in my ass when you can't use two feet people.
Well, of the two of us, B is the cook and dog runner so his hurt foot has really put a kink in our daily routines. I've promised him yummy home cooked meals, and have sadly only provided pizza (from a local pizzeria), tacos (from a local taqueria), and noodles with old tomato sauce (yum). I suck. Instead of pre-planning meals, like I should be, I'm thinking about fun dining spaces where I charm my sweet B with a nice home cooked meal (from the local Mexican restaraunt, of course).
This is a cheerful place where I'd want to drink lots of sangria.

How cool is this repurposed kitchen table?

Mismatched chairs are so quirky and I love the combo of steel and wood.

The giant, abstract painting and glamorous chandelier create an eclectic/artsy space.

In case you're feeling bad for B, don't worry, I won't feed him old tomato sauce tonight.

Oh, I am so sorry to hear that. You guys are really having a string of back luck lately, aren't you? I hope you both recover soon! And stay off those bikes! You know I am the same way - instead of planning meals and other things around the house, I'm spending all my time looking at pretty houses. It's just so much more fun! I also just saved that first pic too. Don't you just love the green?

Seriously though, picking up food times some time and effort as well :) {lol} great job! I love Mexican food, so I'd be loving that take out! I am sure you are an amazing cook though :)

You are not going to believe this, but I just posted a dining rooms/kitchens post 5 minutes ago! We are totally on the same wavelength. We obviously have the same taste. One of my pics included Eames Eiffel tower base chairs too! Spooky...

Poor Christina and B. I hope B is off the crutches soon!

All of these kitchens would inspire me to actually spend more time in them, cooking. But then again, I truly believe take out is some of the best kind of cooking a girl can do!

I'm sorry to hear that you've both been weilding crutches lately. At least you can "feel each other's pain" so to speak. And I love your method of cooking. I've been doing a lot of that lately, too. Maybe I'll try the old tomato sauce tonight...that's the only one I haven't tried yet.

bummer about your foot, well...your feet, both of yours. funny how something happened to both of you, and it's feet. life is weird. my fiance is the shopper and the cook, if anything happened to him, or his foot, he would be in more misery with me at the helm. the stove helm that is! :)

oh NO! hope B is feeling better soon...and I totally understand the importance of looking for fabulous spaces rather than cooking!

I hope you guys recover quickly - No fun being on crutches!

You're too funny with the cooking. I love to cook when I have my pantry stocked, but hate it when I want to cook something and need to run to the store.

Sending healing thoughts your way. :)

That top sun drenched room has my name written all over it!! Oh what I wouldn't give to live there!! So sorry to hear about B's foot - that's a big hassel to say the least - which I guess you are the expert on having just recovered from one yourself! Maybe it's sprained itself in sympathy with your foot?

yikes, sorry to hear about his ankle!
don't feel bad about what you think is a "bad" homecooked meal. any effort is totally appreciated, i'm sure. scott is happy with a bowl of cereal, so he's easy, haha!
