There are few things in this life I know I will never have...
-Uggs (hey, I'm not hating, I'm just saying)
-an exotic animal especially any varietal of monkey
-20/20 vision
-a penis (unless something goes wildly astray)
-a white dining room

The white dining room is something I wish I could have I just know I could never maintain it. First of all, I'm not nearly clean enough and I would feel uncomfortable drinking red wine in it and what good is a dining room is you can't have red wine?
If I could have a white dining room, I wouldn't have a super modern one, but instead I think I'd like one with a romantic, soft feel to it.
A chandelier is a must...

I really like the idea of benches...

and an art wall for my guests to enjoy...

Natural light during the day would be a huge plus...

A giant, elaborate mirror would certainly add charm...

Or maybe scratch the chandelier and add a modern pendant to contrast the shabby chic table.

Scratch all that, I know what I need: some white balloons.

Do you think you'd prefer more modern white dining area or do you like the softness of these spaces?

awesome post and your "things you'll never have" made me laugh. :D and great pictures!!!
Love these photos...*sigh* I need to re-decorate
Oh wow, I love them all! White interiors are absolutely my fave!
I love white... but I just know I couldn't pull it off because I would be petrified of getting something dirty.
I like the soft. Your "never will haves" were hysterical!
I love white, too. I've painted a few pieces over the years and if you give them a good coat of beeswax prior to use, they actually stand up pretty well.
My dream piece is a big white sofa but with a man, a 13-yr old boy and an obese incontinent cat in the household, it remains what it is. A dream.
Love your blog!
OK< I totally burst out laughing (out loud!) when I read your intro. Great pics of the rooms! Agree on lighting and a chandelier (crystal or glass).
I too would love a white dining room but am a self-proclaimed queen of spills. I keep reading in magazines that "white is so easy with kids; we just bleach it" and I think- who are they kidding??!!
I think when it comes to white, modern can be a bit severe. I love the soft dreamy inspiration rooms you've chosen! I can't believe it's taken this long but I finally blog rolled you. : )
I love white interiors...so fresh and so clean!!
Oh, these are so lovely! I am definitley with on a charming and warm white dining room versus a modern one.
I always lean towards modern design, but when it comes to white rooms, it should definitely be a bit more shabby chic, traditional and comfortable.
I do love these rooms!
I too would love an all white dining room but you are right, what is the point without red wine? I am prone to spills!
Lovely;) I too wish I could do white in several rooms; the pristine simplicity, the zen-feeling of it . . . sigh. But, I live in thse rooms, and that makes white problematic;) Love the new logo, BTW!
I can barely wear a white shirt for an hour before something gets on it! I am not good like that! But I love all white...I wish I could have an all white room, so chic and clean! I love the one with the large mirror.
Off to get some white balloons instead!
Have a great day!! XO
Your posts always make me laugh. :)
I do like white dining rooms, but there's not a chance that they'll ever happen for me. But I may just need to get some white balloons. That seems to be a perfect compromise.
Love all the pics, you have great taste!
I would never want to or attempt to pull off a white dining room.
p.s. your list is too funny! ha!
Yeah - I can't really picture you with any of those. Especially the monkey ;)
Mmmm. These are all so airy and light and lovely, but I think I love red wine more. Nice pics.
I'm a sucker for white in most rooms, so yes, yes and yes to the above! Though I like some modern influences, this pics are perfect the way they are. Maybe one day.... :)
No uggs for you, ok, I can understand that. Mine were a gift, and they keep my feet warm while camping. But they stay with the camping stuff.
I like the softness of the spaces, but I also like the modern appeal. It is very hard to choose, but lovely pictures!
Love these white rooms - a bench and a chandelier would be a must for me!
I too love white dining rooms but I also know that I will never have one. It will impossible to keep them clean. Loving all the pics.
gorgeous pics as always...i think of unapproachable design but these are cozy...
I'm sorry. I'm still drying my tears of laughter about the penis. o.m.g. OMG!
ok I'm slowly recuperating...
the 3rd and the 6th are my favorites BUT alas I'll never have a white kitchen either. For, one I have 2 little ones and thats just asking for a disaster. But two, I'd never have people over because I'd be watching their every move LOL .....and I think sharing food with friends is one of the best ways to enjoy each others company. So, no go on the white kitchen... :-/
<3,
Iva
i totally agree with the uggs!
love it, but not for me either. I have kids, enough said.
I agree, if I had white around me, I would go for softer styles and not modern. I especially love the third one..
If I ever have, yanno, MONEY and a NICE PLACE to live, I am so hiring you to decorate it...
I love the white!
first off, YOU ARE SO FUNNY!!!!
and second off, i like the softer look. harsh white modern is HARSH WHITE MODERN, and hugely impractical and too cold for me.
sorry if that sounds WAY TOO OPINIONATED! :)
love the new header! so yeah, i am not huge fan of the white look eithere. i do like that second picture. more my style. i am just too much of a fan of color and patterns.
penis? ha ha ha, love it!!!
I love color, but when I see a beautiful white room like these....it makes me think
I like your thoughts on red wine!
All these rooms are gorgeous!
I couldn't decide on the style (big surprise) so my white dining room is a mishmash. You can totally do it! It's not as hard to maintain as you might think. You just can't have white upholstery . . .
I agree, especially about the red wine! Love your inspiration though. Maybe I will get a chance to design a space similar for a non alcholic. :)
You can do it - just serve only white wine, mashed potatoes and whipped cream
I'm in love with that light fixture in the 6th image... so want that over my dining table...
Gorgeous pictures ! i love white... makes me want to re-do my dining :)) Thanks for the fabulous pics :)
Cheers.....
it's like a fresh breath of air! i think all white makes me feel like i'm in a hotel :)
