Remember the post on mismatched chairs from some time ago? Well, B and I only have two kitchen chairs and after my DIY project from this weekend, I'm thinking these could be next. I really like the look of these kitchen table (which is surprisingly like ours) and the green would be perfect against our yellow walls...

Hmmm, to paint or not to paint? I don't know if B will go for it (they are his chairs; are you noticing a trend here?) Well, if I don't end up painting the chairs, I definitely should buy a bouquet of tulips.

so cute!!! normally i am not a fan of painted wood, but this pic is looking so GOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!
I say paint away! you can always paint it back! def get the tulips if nothing else! Good luck! let us know if you do it!
Chic!
I love it. It looks so fresh and cheery!
I say paint....and get tulips...and then show us the picture.
we actually have these same chairs, but in their original state--stained dark. i think i'd like them better if they were painted.
gorgeous light airy kitchen! i think you should do it!
and i agree--even if you don't, the flowers are a must!
ooh, yes! but a word of warning...when i painted our kitchen table dark blue, the table i was working with already had a very heavy duty layer of finish...i didn't sand it as well as i should have, and now, almost two years later, the table is still a little tacky...so i say paint away, but be sure to sand well first! (sorry if this is gratuitous advice...)
I have that photo in my inspiration book....totally do it!
also, thank you for the kind words...I have added your link to my blog:)
I always say paint and green sounds just so fun! Please DO and then post pics, k?
the good thing about painting is being able to change it whenever you want. if you are not sure of the color, you can paint it back :)
Be sure to heavily sand first! The rougher the surface the better the paint will stick. You may also want to put a coat of poly as a top coat. It will keep the paint from peeling and allow you to wipe down dirty chairs! Good Luck!
Paint away.
I think painting the chairs sounds like a wonderful idea! The idea of tulips is a good one as well;)
Such a great stove! Love the chairs. My mom has a beautiful vintage Occidental stove, that I just posted about this afternoon. Aren't old stoves the best?!
just so light and airy..something we're missing in the city..i think the entire decor would have to match that feeling, though
The Benjamin Moore "Aura/Affinity" paint is a primer and paint in one, so if there is a coating on the chair that you are just too lazy to sand off, this is the perfect trick.
Paint the table too! ;)
I am all about painting!! oh, and buying tulips!!!!
Thanks for sharing! I have a table and chair hand-me-down set that is this exact style but an ugly medium-orangey wood stain. This may be just the fix!
I am a huge proponent of painting. Everything! Do it, do it, do it!
I adore mismatched pieces...they add more charms! Lovely new week to you! XO*
Do it!!
Love the painted wood!! I say go for it girlie! XOXO
I really like the idea of mismatched chairs as long as the shape of them remains kind of similar. I think you should go for it. The boy can live with it ;)
just go for it !!
Oh, you are turning into a DIY addict... I can see the signs already! I think you should paint the chairs... if you hate it, you can always paint it another color! I love the idea of mismatched chairs...

Do it! Do it!
