Hump Day Spotlight: Our City Lights

I've decided to start a new series to be posted every Wednesday (Hump day, duh!) because one of the things I love about blogging is getting to know other people's tastes, vision, and personality through their blogs. If you think all blogs are the same, they're not. Everyone has a unique voice and my goal is to hi light one blog a week that I read regularly in hopes of sharing with you blogs that I feel have a true sense of individuality and creativity. I'd like to kick off this series with Diana from our city lights.
In order for you to get a taste of what this wonderful blogger is like, I've asked Diana to answer three (random) questions. (I kind of fell in love with this blog when Dianna posted about a book on Vintage tattoos.)
Describe yourself in three words.
reserved, straightforward, idealist

I
f you could only have one technologically advanced piece (i.e. cell phone, computer, tv) and only one, what would it be? it would be my computer. the internet is a capital invention and that is how i meet the coolest people (aka you, Christina).

How do you see success in the blogging world or what do you think makes a blog "successful"?
Blogging is a great hobby and even though it's great to make money out of it and an empire out it (via Gala Darling, and Fifi Lapin, The Coveted for example), it's really important to not lose yourself in your blog. I have followed blogs from the very beginning and slowly dwindling down each post, i can see they are blogging not just for themselves, but for the readership. I stopped subscribing to some blogs because they lost what made them different and trying to tally up to other sites loses the character of the blogger. i think a successful blog needs character, individualism, and a personal rapport with the readers and being involved in the blogging community.

Check out this photography
How cute are her and her husband?{all photos via our city lights}
Diana is obviously one smart lady who has good taste in anything vintage, but most importantly, she's not afraid to be herself, which I love. So what are you waiting for, go check it out!

I love her ideas on keeping your blog "real" and "you" - I have had the same experience with reading other's blogs that no longer seem original and I'm always trying to check in with myself and my blog that I too am being original. Great thoughts... any who, on to check out her blog!

Oh, Diana always creates a lovely story! I do particularly like her quote on "i think a successful blog needs character, individualism, and a personal rapport with the readers and being involved in the blogging community."

- Most important value to a blogger is their character & individuality. Well said!
