Hanging around

One of the things B and I have tried to incorporate in our new space is hanging items (mostly pendant lamps). I've been slowly looking for hanging mobile options and have made some progress. Of course, I'd prefer to buy something handmade as opposed to something manufactured so I've been searching Etsy as well. Here is my tentative list of Etsy "hanging" items, some or mobiles, others simply attach to the ceiling.
Warm Spice 3 piece Pom Kit $15

I'm a huge fan of cranes and origami so this one would be ideal if it wasn't sold out. I'm sure the artist will make another (right, right?)

This might be a children's mobile, but I'm still smitten with it.
Lovebirds Mobile Orange $40
source: Made by Mosey
You actually assemble this one yourself.
Falling Blossom Hanging Decoration KIT $11
source: Ruth Singer
This one is kitchy but really fun (see the little horseshoe?)
Cowgirl Ecofriendly Art Mobile $95
source: Yummy Ink
This is an actual kinetic art mobile and I really like the soft color palette.
Lil'Softy $75
source: Foamobiles
Here's a little inspiration...
Here are two long vertical shapes.

Do you have a mobile in your space?

Okay so what I need to know is: is ANYONE'S room EVER really that clean?? I love the rooms you post, but sometimes I'm like "do these freaks just have no STUFF or do they have the cash for a top-notch maid service or what??" heehee. My room is characterized by stacks of books, sometimes clothes strewn about, a desk with piles of un-filed work, jewelry scattered atop my dresser, etc. Geez Louise!

These are lovely. We made 1000 cranes for my grandparents 50th anniversary and hung them for them as a gift. I have had it in the back of my head to do as a project for my bedroom for awhile, but the time commitment is so hard to wrap my head around!!

I do not have a mobile, but thanks for the idea! I could see having one of those in a corner of our bedroom???

I NEED those poms... so cool! They would be perfect for my little girl's room! We don't have anything like that hanging in the house, definitely need to rethink that!

I love the falling blossoms one. I've actually been looking for a nice windchime to put outside on my deck but haven't been able to find anything I love...

Great idea! I really like the first flower-like ones from etsy. They would be wonderful in a space.

I had some poms that I made for a recent bridal shower hanging up in my family room for several weeks after the shower. They were fun for awhile, but then I got a bit tired of seeing them up there and took them down. But they are SUPER easy to make. I got my tissue paper at Dollar Tree, so it literally only cost me $1 to make three. If you want directions, let me know.

I love the PomPoms at the top! I have seen them on Etsy before, and think they are so adorable... They just make you smile :)

The last ones looked like cupcake liners, but if you think about it, that may not be such a bad idea!

I love this list. Just the other day I was thinking about doing something hanging in H's room. He loves outer-space, so maybe a solar system mobile might be appropriate for him? For me, I'd pick those pom poms in a heartbeat!

I love the idea of mobiles. I've been thinking about getting one for the last year or so, but one that's more of a room divider (what you actually call these things escapes my mind right now). I can't find any that I like yet, though. I really love the last three that you showed here. Awesome.

we have one in my son's and daughter's rooms, but I saw a birdhouse made out of old books that I just adore and may have to do.

I actually love all of these, even though I can't say mobiles are something I've ever thought about. That little horseshoe is so cute!

Just saw an interesting mobile made out of a broken umbrella frame and Wisk detergent bottles. The artist's web page is here:
