Sunday Reading

The gloomy weather has slowed things down a bit in my house and I finally have time to catch up on my book for the Slow Reader Book Club. I'm already hooked on this incredible "true life novel" about the author's great grandmothers' experiences in the early 1900's. It's not too late to join the conversation here.

I recently finished two other books that I highly recommend (in case you're looking for some good reading):
Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson
and
The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz

What are you reading?

  4. I am reading the 6 book in a series by Diana Gabaldon, "A Breath of Snow and Ashes" I have read the series once before and she just came out with the next book, so I re-read them all since it has been awhile since I read them (2003 and 2005)

  6. Agreed: gloomy weather is the perfect opportunity to curl up with a throw, a cup of tea and a (great) book!

  7. Oscar Wao was one of my favorite novels ever--fantastic. I love Junot Diaz. Have you read Drown, his collection of short stories?

I tried Three Cups of Tea but just couldn't get into it . . . it was really slow moving for me, and I though the co-authorship was awkward. What did you think of that?

Just finished Girls in Trucks by Katie Crouch--I highly recommend it! It's about a southern girl in the big city and all the complications therein . . . really really good.

    xoxoxo!

  14. I read the Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao about a year ago and it was great!! I'm rereading World War Z now - even though its about zombies and I feel weird recommending it, I still totally would! Gosh, I love books!
