I think these lilac bedrooms, from the November 09' issue of Living Etc., are wonderfully sweet and feminine. B would never stand for a purple bedroom, but I think this color offers a romantic, calming quality, especially when paired with grey.
photos scanned from Living Etc. So serene...I just want to fall into that first bed and stay there all week long.
Lavender is quite lovely paired with grey! We painted our office (aka cluttered Etsy shop storage room) lavender about 6 months ago, but we haven't found the right drapes/artwork combo yet, so it still feels a bit off. My husband isn't so fond of it yet, but I know I can make it cool with a little work. Organizing it and pulling it all together is my one my "winter projects" list.
this is not really related, but i got some lavender soap for christmas. i think the color is lovely, but i sure think lavender STINKS as far as scents go. :/
So pretty. Did you ever see my post on my daughter Kara's nursery? Her walls are lilac and I used a few gray accents. You can check out the post here: http://tiny.cc/8PN88
Those are great. Love the first bed! I was thinking of doing a purple bedroom in our new house, but probably a darker shade as I feel it tends to be more masculine than lilac (which I do love but would be hard pressed to convince my husband to go for!)
Oh! I want a lilac bedroom! I was so inspired by the decor in the Drew Barrymore film Grey Gardens and I want want want. But I share my bedroom with my husband and 8 month old son and they think its "too girly mummy!"

ReplyDeleteI'm not a purple person either, but Real Simple just did a spread on decorating with purple.
