A desk and an ostrich, why? Because I said so.

My sweet colleague Erika sent some pictures of a DIY project that I think turned out wonderfully. She bought a desk for cheap and while the shape was perfect, the finish was not.
Erika decided on a bold color (yay for orange!) and updated the drawer pulls for a modern look.
Notice the lime + orange combo? I love it!
How fun is that?! Thanks Erika for sharing...I think I need to buy some orange spray paint just to get it out of my system.
On another note, I've found a mate for my ostrich pillow. The link to Greenwich Letterpress' shop came to me by of .38. Thank you, thank you, thank you! My first ostrich has been very lonely.

In case you're more of a traditionalist, there are rooster cards available too!

I think the ostrich might quickly be becoming my new deer. (If you can't tell by now, I think it's become increasing apparent that I have some serious commitment issues.)
B and I are going to the YMCA tonight to get memberships. Please cross your fingers that I don't pass out from a muscle cramp or asthma attack on the elliptical machine and break something (or pull someone down with me).
So what do you say, should I hunt down some more ostrich goodies?

  6. Ostriches rock! Much better ride than zebras . . . Ellipticals are safe as long as you sneak up from behind and stun them first;)

  23. Great job with the desk, I love the way it turned out... and I even liked the time stamp on the photos. Gives a good idea on how long a project like that would take. Thanks for sharing!

  24. Oh my goodness, for a second I was like "This girl busted out another DIY? She must be up 24/7 to get all this stuff done!" But then, as I kept reading I was relieved that it was from someone else this time. Ha! Because, seriously, you are making me feel lazy here. I need to step it up a notch. Loving your ostrich themed stuff. my feathered friend of choice has always been the peacock, but the ostrich is growing on me.

  27. Nice Ostrich! I've always wanted to ride an Ostrich like Bill Cosby did in "Leonard Pt. 6"... I think people have one thing all wrong: if there is ever a nuclear war, the only thing that will really survive will not be cockroaches... it will be Ostriches!
