Interiors: Tapestries

What could be easier than a tapestry to some color, pattern, texture to a space? Not only are they super versatile, they're also easy to move around (or hide) when that need to redecorate hits you, as it inevitably will. I think the third space's neutral version is my favorite. What about you?

Interiors: Soft Blush

Happy Monday! I'm currently traveling from Dallas to Raleigh and had a great weekend with my siblings. A few observations from my latest trip to Texas: I still think North Carolina BBQ is the best BBQ around (I realize these are fighting words for some of you, but I stand firm on this one); I love, love, love horseback riding but man am I sore, and cowboys are still my favorite.
So how about the different use of soft pink in these interiors? I really like how the pink in the fourth image acts like a neutral while the pink in the second image helps soften a modern couch. It's a versatile color, no doubt. Which space is your favorite?

Interiors: Country Home in Tasmania

This house tour, as seen in Home Life, features a country home located in Tasmania that was built from  salvaged and reclaimed wood. The bedroom attic is what initially caught my attention (I mean, HELLO) but the whole home space is filled with rustic charm. Do you love this home as much as I do? I'd move to Tasmania just to sleep in that bedroom. Never mind that someone else owns the house. The details could be worked out, I'm sure of it.  Check out the full tour here.

Interiors: Dark and Lovely

It has been dreary, cold and wet in Raleigh for the past few days. Weather like this puts me in the mood for dark, warm, comforting interiors. The two bedrooms are my favorite. Very romantic, no?

Interiors: Soft Citrus

Happy New Year! Did you have a good holiday season? Ours was busy with plenty of celebration. It was also restful and I think I'm ready to face the new and get back to work. How about you?

Today I'm drawn to interiors with whisper soft tones of lime, orange, and yellow. The combination of orange and lime has been a long time favorite of mine (thanks to one of my favorite movies of all time), and I'm especially drawn to this palette when it's muted to its lightest tones. Soft warmth. Mmmmm.

Interiors: Feeling Warm and Cozy

You know what would really make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside? If I were drinking a hot toddy while taking a bath in that gorgeous bathtub. Are any of these spaces making you feel all warm and cozy?

Interiors: Black and White

Of all the interior round ups I've posted, I realized I've managed to neglect featuring simple black and white. This is probably because I adore color and could never see myself using only black and white in a space (perhaps with lots of wood accents...maybe). After posting this kitchen though, I've been finding myself admiring the restraint it must take to edit down to these two basic colors. My favorite space is, hands down, the first bedroom. Look at all that light! What about you? See a space you like?

Interiors: Ochre + Purple

Golden ochre and pretty purple, an interesting combination, isn't it? The tendency is to mix ochre with plum to create a rich, warm palette, but I also like the combination of ochre and lilac in the second example. It's fresh, unexpected, playful and fun.
What do you think about this color combo? Something you'd be willing to try?
