Paper Goods: Darling Clementine

Darling Clementine, a small Norwegian design agency, creates fantastically cheeky Scandinavian inspired illustrations for paper goods, tea towels, and prints. The Claudette notebook set ($12) would make a great gift for anyone obsessed with jotting notes and lists (i.e. me) and Darling Clementine ships to the U.S. for a very reasonable price.  Check out the shop here and the studio's website here.

Wishlist 2.28.11

What I NEED is a new pair of running shoes (snore), but what I WANT is everything you see above. At the tip top of my list (after the stupid running shoes, of course) are these rain booties that received rave reviews from Miss Modish. They're the kind of rain shoes that would work all day, rain or shine. I suppose I could say I NEED them too?

When you can get away or travel somewhere new, sometimes it's enough to escape through another's photographs.  Hope you're enjoying what's left of the weekend. xo

Birthday Packaging + Happy Weekend

vintage string set from all things white
fabric tape + washi tape + vintage string + vintage button
vintage lace + key stamp
B and I recently celebrated a couple of birthdays (his sister and mum) and I was able to use some vintage lace and string recently purchased for the wrapping. My favorite package is the little box with the birthday balloons.  Who doesn't love balloons on their birthday?
Are you excited about the weekend? I know I am. My sister is coming in for a visit tomorrow and we have a couple of parties to attend and maybe a little shopping to do. How will you be spending your weekend?
Finally, in case you missed it, be sure to check out some bathroom design ideas I put together for my friend. We'd love to hear your thoughts on which design you like best.

I really want this bag to accompany me on my weekend trips while this pretty vintage lace ring would be a perfect addition to my spring wardrobe. Check out the shop's full selection here.

Vintage: Old Age

I'm pretty sure I could buy all of my vintage dresses this season at Old Age Vintage alone. This shop has a fantastic selection of dresses in all sizes so if you're in the market for a new vintage dress (when am I not in the market?) you should definitely check this shop out. See a style you like? This black and white number is on the top of my list.

Bathroom ideas for KT

My dear friends Katie and Peter just bought a house (yay!) and as a housewarming gift, Katie's sweet mum is offering to fix up their guest bathroom. Katie contacted me in hopes that I could help. Here's what she said: "We already know we're going to take out the shower doors and put in a curved curtain rod (for more space). That mirror can either stay and get framed (my idea) or we can get a new mirror. All those fugly wood fixtures have got to go and we're painting. Other than that, no change. Nothing monumental, but I don't want to bother painting the space if we're not going to love it."
I've come up with three different looks. Katie really wants to incorporate vintage items and blues and greens in the new bathroom. The looks are pretty similar so that Katie and Peter have lots of affordable options to choose from. I've included paint colors, shower curtains, mirrors, and shelving over the toilet in each of the "designs".

Option #2
jars $18-$28

Option #3
antique rx medicine bottles (set of 3) $36
So, what do you think?  Do you like one particular set over the others?  I don't normally do this sort of thing on the blog so I'd love to hear your thoughts!

I've posted about unframed mirrors before here and here, and I have to tell you that the more I see them, the more I love them. I think these always look better in collections.  The more the better!

Style Inspiration: Shabd

I daresay tie-dyed has never looked so good. I think I'd give this look a try, perhaps with a lightweight scarf or pretty blouse. Heck, I'd even wear the tights. Think you'd try this look?

p.s. here's an affordable option I wouldn't mind wearing.

Art: Amy Jean Porter

I'm a huge fan of Amy Jean Porter's ongoing project, All Species, All the Time.  I first ran across her work on 20x200 and was blown away by her use of color and the quirky combination of animals and text.  Check out her full portfolio here.
