Happy Monday! I'm preparing for a couple of interviews this week so I have dressed-to-impress interview kind of clothing on my mind. Aside from three semi-splurge items, the items above are under $100. I'm most comfortable in dresses and skirts and a suit is not currently an option so I'm trying to make do with budget friendly pieces that I'm hoping I'll feel confident in.  I'm actually going to be wearing a couple of these items to my own interview so let's hope I've planned well.
Do you have a go-to outfit you like to wear for interviews? Perhaps a lucky scarf or strand of pearls?

  1. I really like the first dress. Looks very professional but definitely not boring. Good luck with your interviews!

  2. Best of luck on your interviews this week! I hope they're for positions you're excited about. I love those UO double buckle heels...I've had them on my wishlist for awhile in grey. They're so pretty and perfect for professional outfits. Love that white tie blouse, too!

  3. Good luck!

I usually do a pencil skirt and a blouse for interviews. Professional, yet stylish.

  5. Ooh, I love these all!

I haven't gone on an interview in awhile (been in my current job for 3 1/2 years), but I used to go with a basic black suit and a nice blouse. The suit isn't a very nice one though, I bought it while I was still in college. I think an upgrade is in order. ;-)

    Good luck on your interviews!!

  6. I always think basic combos are the best choice. Those dresses are perfect for an interview. You choose nice accessories, I think they play a special roll on the person who wears them, they descrive the person (just my opinion). I hope you have good luck!!

  7. It's been so long since I've interviewed! Fortunately my field(s) are relatively casual, so my usual dresses and skirts have sufficed. I am so not a pants person. Wish I could change that!

Best of luck Christina, can't wait to hear about them. They're all gonna love you--how couldn't they?

  9. I get stressed out when dressing for interview. I want to dress the way I normally dress but suitable for an interview. but that voice back in my head, the voice from high school when we "learned" about interviewing and interview dressing up, I keep on thinking you have to dress in an ugly, unfortunate suit or slacks. need to somehow throw that old thought away. love the stuff you posted!

  13. Hi Christina, first--good luck on your interviews this week! I spent the last two months interviewing candidates for a position and I have to say, a blazer makes such a good impression. If you can't afford a suit, maybe you can throw a cute, structured blazer atop a dress or skirt?

I'm not sure I can properly articulate why, but a well-made blazer makes all the difference!
