I'm not generally into über modern design but I really like this modern kitchen as seen on plastolux. The over sized wall hanging (which looks like a giant coat rack to me) and the array of Eames chairs is kind of making my heart go pitter-patter.
Isn't that floor beautiful too? Definitely my kind of minimalism.

Style Inspiration: Tinytoadstool
I recently came across tinytoadstool on Flickr and was immediately smitten with the adorable outfits and fun styling.
Aren't these outfits fantastic? Lucky for us, tinytoadstool has a vintage shop where some of these pieces can be found.

Wishlist 6.29.10
I bought some new pumps for a wedding this fall (not my own, my friend's wedding although I might wear these shoes to the courthouse as well) and although I really like the shoes on their own, I think some fun shoe clips would dress them up a bit.
I like the Little Johnny Shoe Blooms from Emersonmade priced at $36. They're just too sweet and come in a variety of pretty colors. Anyone have any experience with shoe clips? Do they stay in place pretty well? I'd love to hear your thoughts if you have any suggestions.

Anatomy Jewelry
I can honestly say I've never seen anything quite like this anatomy jewelry from Lillian Crowe.
Pretty wild huh? The attention to detail is just incredible and although the anatomy theme does not reflect my normal feminine inclinations, I can appreciate good artistry when I see it. Besides, I think one of these pieces would be fun worn with a feminine floral dress. It would definitely make for good conversation. Check out the options here.

Hair Inspiration
Growing my hair out from a very short pixie cut has been a long, arduous process and there have been times of panic where shaving my head appeared to be the only solution. Then I come across an image like this, and I think that maybe all of the bobby pins, flat ironing, pony tails, and unsuccessful taming of frizz is worth it. A tie scarf and a braid. Perfection.

Wishlist 6.28.10
Oh how I'd love to get my hands on one of these handmade vintage inspired tea dresses from sohomode.
Priced at $110 each, they're going on the ever growing wishlist. Wouldn't one of these make the perfect summer wedding attendee dress? Find these beauties here.

Interiors: Collage Walls
Beware, the collage wall is not for the minimalist at heart.
Some of these examples are actual collages while others are wallpaper "faux collages." I think they're all interesting and because I am most definitely not a minimalist, I could see my future craft room having a wall with a giant collage. What do you think about this type of wall decor?

New Glasses
I just wanted to pop in really quick before the wedding we're attending tonight to show you my early birthday gift from B. They're the glasses I posted about here! I was sure I would have to exchange a few pairs before I found the right ones, but these are exactly what I wanted. Warby Parker, I give you two thumbs up! Now I'm off to go brave the outdoor wedding where I'm sure I'm going to sweat my a** of in the absurd heat. Hope you're having a good one :)
p.s. B bought a pair for himself that are fantastic! I'll try to sneak a photo to show you but I'll have to be really sneaky.

Happy Weekend
Happy Friday friends! What are your plans this weekend? B and I have a wedding to attend on Saturday night then I have plans with some old friends on Sunday. It's going to be a busy weekend with shop updates as well, which I'll hopefully share with you on Sunday. It's been a long week and I'm definitely looking forward to whatever rest I can squeeze into the schedule. I hope you have a good one and I'll seen you back here soon!

Photo of a Photo
I think these photographs of photos (blah that's a mouthful) by Stephanie Williams Photography are such a neat addition to this engagement photo session.
Isn't this a fun idea? I so badly want to have a photo session with B. We may have to wait until after we're married in order to be able to afford it but I don't care. I think it's worth it either way.

Two items from Anthro are on my wishlist today...
I'm a little stripe crazy right now and this tank is on sale for $39.95 (but sadly not in my size) and I've been wanting a faux animal head for years. Love this giraffe option for $68.

Interiors: Blush Pink + Light Grey
Grey and pink is such girly, classic combination. These two spaces share the same light palette while being complete different stylistically.
Living in a really old home and having a penchant towards retro anything, I could see myself with a kitchen similar to the second image. Do you find the softness of this palette boring or do you find these spaces as inviting as I do?

Decor: Vintage Scarves
I have SO many vintage scarves that I rarely wear but just love to have around. I've recently come across two examples of how I might be able to use them.
I really, really love the idea of hanging them on a small ladder, because then you could use them to wear and then put them back and rotate them for a different look. Now I just need to hit the flea market and see I can find a little ladder. What do you think of these ideas? Anyone else collect vintage scarves?

Photography: Winnie Au
I can't help but smile and be cheered by these sweet dog portraits by Winnie Au.
The patterned back drops are a nice touch too. I'd love to have some professional portraits of my pups taken but it seems a little excessive for the budget. I can't help but think it would be worth it though, especially because, like me, they aren't getting any younger :)

Vintage Photography Wall
Hello Monday and hello friends. B and I had a great weekend visiting with family and I could really use another weekend to recover. Since that's NOT going to happen, we minus well jump right in. Last week, I ran across two vintage photography art walls that I thought were really interesting. Definitely a traditional form of an "art wall", old photographs set out for display are a great conversation starter and can be an unexpected twist is a contemporary home.
I personally don't have many old family portraits, but I'm going start asking around and see if I can snag a few. I also can't remember the last time I printed out a photo which kind of makes me sad. This also gives me an idea for my next wishlist post...
Happy new week to you!

Happy Friday
Happy Friday dearest readers! Do you have any fun Father's Day plans in the mix? B and I are headed out of town tomorrow night to visit with his family and I'm hoping to see my sister and adorable niece at some point too. I'm taking a wee break from the normal shop work this weekend but I'm hoping to get at least a few new items added including a fun new necklace (even when I try to take a break, I can never REALLY let it go).
Have a good one!
xo,
Christina
