Interiors: Deep Sultry Green

Deep, sultry green is not a color I would normally use in my poorly lit home.  These spaces, however, make me re-think its use.  It's really a lovely color full of a romantic moodiness that's easily layered and complimented by gold and natural wood accents.

I especially like the use of it in an outdoor space as seen in the last example.  Certainly a contrast to the modern whites currently favored.  What do you think about these deep green spaces?

My whole entryway is painted a deep kelly green. So I LOVE it!!!

The color in that kitchen is to die for, especially with all the white and black.

I love the second image with the bottle green. Everything so rustic looking. I love dark greens; they make things so deep and earthy, with a little hint of intellectual.

rich and delicious and sultry!

i have a neighbor that has a dark green house. it is spanish style. and it is LOVELY. every time i look at it i wish i lived there. and don't even get me started on how great it looks with his fabulous yard full of unusual plants. i can't really explain it, but it looks great. just great. sometimes the non-traditional colors in architecture and decor are surprisingly pleasing. :)

Those chairs are stunning! I was never a huge fan of green until I met my husband, his favorite color!

I for one am not, initially, a fan of this shade of green...but I think it is all in the design as evident in the first pic...These chairs are stylish and the use of the green is executed beautifully.

I wore a uniform to school that included that particular shade of green. As you can imagine, it was a very long time before I could stand to look at that green again. Thanks for the photos. I think I'm comin' around.

I LOVE a deep, almost murky, green. Lately, I really love a dark greenish yellow, too. Something so worn-in and comfortable about both...

I adore those top two chairs - even though I think they would be a bit tricky to put them in your house decor wise!
