Black Accent Wall

At first glance, this space looks like any other clean, modern, simple home but wait for it...

...almost there...

...TAH DAH! We found it, the elusive black wall.  So simple in nature but doesn't it add a certain oomph to the space?

Oh look!  There's another one in a different pattern. Very nice.

Here's another angle to give you the full effect.  Suddenly the idea of a black accent wall seem pretty doable, no?

I know Ally's been looking for black wall paper to put in her new home. I can't wait to see what she decides!  What do you think about a black accent wall?  Do you think it only works with open, neutral spaces like this or do you see it being more versatile?

i love the idea of a black accent wall. i'd probably go for black paint - no wallpaper - and hang a few simple pieces on it.
i saw a black kitchen in a magazine before and ever since i've flirted with the idea of doing the same thing. it's very versatile - i think it could work in an open or tight space.

Personally, I love the idea of black walls; they really anchor a space. Doing one wall in black, especially with a bold pattern, is pretty chic. I love the combination of black and metallic silver too; I wouldn't mind doing that in my own space (if I were allowed to do things like that, that is;)

I love this idea. Currently trying to work out how to brighten up my flat and this would be ideal.

Thank you

O love the black accent wall! My bathroom is the darkest charcoal grey without being black. I love the sunlight in this home!

I love it! I think it is totally versatile. It makes a great impact and adds drama. The white furniture in front really makes it POP!

I want to live here! I never would have thought of a black accent wall, but the pattern on the wallpaper softens it. Such impeccable design in this home.

Aah, Yes. The anchor wall is one my mama favored in our tiny two bedroom apartment, so many years ago.

It gives you the necessary color we need to see in our space, without swallowing up the place. Nice trick.

Oh, I never thought I would say this about a black wall, but I am in love with it! I think it probably works best in an open concept area as shown just because in an enclosed space it might look a little too dark. I suppose it depends on the mood you are looking to create though as well. Wow, I am so enthusiastic to try this now!

love the black wallpaper - i wanted to try it in my room but was more scared of putting up wallpaper than the fact that its was black!!

ended up going for shades of charcoal grey paint which worked really well.

you always find such lovely images!

I am not sure about this. I am sure if I was actually there, I'd probably like it more.
