Orange you glad I'm about to beat this to death?

Oh yes, if you couldn't figure it out from the title, I am not done with the color orange. As the eloquent blogger Sam commented:
"Orange really is the unsung hero of the colour spectrum I think!"
Today I feel like singing about an unsung hero...the post is dedicated to you orange- the color that is rarely anyone's "favorite."
The artist Kandinsky also had a little something to say about orange:
"Orange is red brought nearer to humanity by yellow."

Here are a few more interiors that use the color orange in all the right ways...
Orange + Purple make for a strange but intriguing combination.
This monochromatic bedroom has the perfect mix of pattern and texture.

It's subtle, but it's there (and look at that white painted brick!)

Orange can be luxurious with the help of a strong navy and a romantic chandelier.

Something about this whole combination is making me drool, but I can't decide if it's the rug or the toss pillows.

Dearest Orange,
I promise that even though you're not my very favorite (sorry but I can't choose the color I love, I just feel it), I will no longer neglect you. I'm sure we can find a happy medium and forge a lovely friendship.
xoxo,
Christina

Orange is the color of "Creativity"...
It is the color of Joy and Generosity.
It is the ultimate vibration of vitality.
It is an anti-depressant.
It is our Factory of making babies, making novels, or even making brownies.
It is our sexuality, our simplest joys and our good health and our creative expression.
It is our Sacral chakra.

It comes and goes like the tide, through all of us. I think it is best in small doses, rather than over dosing on too much of a good thing.

When we are attracted to the color...ask:
What are we making in a little creative factory now?

I love this post. You know what I think looks good...when done right...orange and turquoise, with my maybe some white thrown in. And I love the last image.

I think it's time we all gave orange a chance.

Oh please don't be done with orange because it's my favorite (when I'm using color, that is). And I LOVE that quote from Kandinsky. BTW, I just saw the Kandinsky show at the Pompidou Center and it was so fabulous! I love him to death.

I'll be honest, I'm not an orange fan (yellow is my favorite), but I do like it when it's used for decorating.

I'll tell you. I am not normally a big orange fan,. I went to Georgia and orange screams Clemson and Auburn, and Florida, and six zillion years later, it still hits me wrong. BUT the second picture is changing my mind as we speak.

If it makes orange feel any better, it has 17,000 fans at Clemson. I love it so much I painted our guest room orange. It forever has a place in my heart. (And purple+orange is even better.) :-)

I love orange! It's not as strong as red, not as bright as yellow. It's a happy color! :)

I loved this post! I adore orange...my loft actually had accent walls painted orange around the kitchen and with the tall ceilings, huge windows... it just worked. Now I love it for accents. of course, the whole UVA thing certainly helped with my love of orange!

Orange and blue together is one of my all-time favorite color combos. Maybe it's because I was raised in UVA territory, but I still think they look great. Awesome choices!

I agree about orange and purple, I've got that colour combination idea on hold (can't try out all colours at the same time or my apartment would look quite mad).
Have a great weekend Christina!
